    Pros

Mediocre employee benefits...but besides that nothing good to say about this company. You will be better off unemployed. Avoid if possible.

    Cons

Fort worth division is an absolute mess.
-No teamwork between departments. Teams are constantly looking to shift the blame to others.
-Salary is the lowest I have ever experienced
-Employees constantly getting verbally harassed by managers
-Extremely strict work environment due to all managers being old Koreans not used to american business culture.
-Company is not innovative due to old worn out managers
-Does nothing to boost employee morale with positive encouragement

    Advice to Management

Ditch the old Korean management habits, because it's not helping anyone. Learn how to respect people under you if you want to good performance out of them.

    Pros

Great benefits with no waiting period.

    Cons

The constant amount of reporting doesn't allow any work to get done. English is not the primary language in the company. Internal bickering between departments is detrimental. Frowned upon if you have a life outside of work.

    Advice to Management

    Numbers don't mean everything.

    Pros

It is a well known brand and will be recognized on your resume when applying for a new job.
Good health insurance and an onsite gym.

    Cons

    Three levels of employees: 1-Koreans 2-Americans 3-'Temps'

The company has created a culture of turnover. There are few employees hired directly by LG. When someone leaves the company, we don't receive a replacement.. just the promise of one. These open positions tend to not get filled because of 'hiring freezes'. How is there a hiring freeze if there are new people walking around? No, those are employees being processed in through the onsite staffing agency. These people are told they will become permanent employees in 3 or 6 months after they have proven themselves worthy, when in reality the majority of the temp agency employees in the offices have been temps working side by side with LG employees for over a year. We have a high turnover rate with these people. Some quit within a week once they start speaking with the other orange tagged workers and some stick around for a little bit longer and quit without notice after their 6 month review day has come and passed.

It is a pitiful work environment, and I don't see this location being open for more than another 5 years.

    Advice to Management

Hire people and treat them with dignity and respect, because we're spending valuable time training your 'temp' workers. Stop making pretty fixes like the awful green and glass cubicles and fix the roof. Reward employees with good pay increases when they receive high marks on their annual reviews-- try and keep up with the cost of living.

ignorance of all but KPIs from Korea

    Pros

LG Alabama has employed some great people. Coworkers are like family. LG offers great benefits. Able to transfer to another department if a position is available.

    Cons

Manpower is low which puts more on current employees. Yearly raises are minimal. Live/ work balance is talked about but that is about it. Korean culture may be difficult for some. Very number oriented company and does not look at the big picture.

    Advice to Management

Provide more of a work/life balance with competitive pay and turnover will not be as high. Offer real training for new hires.

    Pros

Excellent benefits including insurance and time off. Direct management is great. Coworkers are great below director level. Salary compensation is good.

    Cons

Horrible management director level and above. No work life balance. Directors seem to be clueless to how their managers and team members run their office. Directors change team configuration resulting in a larger work load that can not physically be done. And they put managers in charge of divisions that have no clue what they are doing.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your team more. Really look at what your team does in a day and put people in management positions that know how to do their job.

I have been working at Lg Electronics Alabama full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The benefits package was amazing compared to other local companies. They were willing to accommodate my class schedule while I finished my MBA.

    Cons

The cultural differences between Korean management and American workers was extreme. Working less than 60 hours a week was frowned on. Management was severely lacking in leadership skills. Four people filed HR complaints against my supervisor in the past 6 months. There is very limited room for advancement, and only Koreans get to top management level. Priorities shifted almost monthly, so any efforts put towards a specific goal were wasted when management lost interest. My title was planning analyst, but 90% of my job was doing pivot tables and vlookups in excel. I never actually analyzed anything.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people who work for you. Don't hire people with advanced skills to perform mundane tasks.

    Pros

    Great benefit package
Huntsville is not the worst place to live

    Cons

Glass ceiling for non-Koreans, especially women
Corporate culture of micromanagement and mistrust of middle management (this is top-down driven)
Endless reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) where the formatting of reports is sometimes more important than how innovative the idea is.
No work-life balance if you want to be considered a dedicated employee

    Advice to Management

Trust the local management and actually use English as the company language
