I worked at Li & Fung full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company has a major structure and highly educated and experienced high management (from VP up)

    Cons

The passive aggressive culture is terrible, no real feedback to employees. They expect you to work 24 hours and there is no investment in employee education. They do not invest in talent, nor rather care for your growth inside the company.

    Advice to Management

Train high employees from overseas offices how to be better managers. Invest in your employees and recognize their hard work. When I left the company had more than 30 thousand employees worldwide, and I met plenty of people who would not put in a good for the company, or would recommend anyone to make business with/work there.

    Pros

Coffee Machine helped me save money.

    Cons

Treat employees like machines. They have no respect for you as a person, you are simply a commodity to make them money and are easily disposable. Everything single thing is urgent and needing to be finished yesterday which creates a stressful/tense work environment. One new designer didnt take lunch for two days because she was swamped and instead of pitching in, the design director tells her "thats ok". Thats actually illegal but they dont care. Incompetent managers who are only looking to cover their own selves and will throw you under the bus if needed. Long hours and overly strict on time (you have to be seated at 9am but often stayed in the office past your scheduled working hours due to often being given assignments that MUST be finished before you leave) although senior managers didnt follow their own rules. Only take the job if you have nothing else and always be on the lookout for another one. Also the benefits are terrible.

    Advice to Management

    Good luck retaining young talent.
