    I worked at Liberty Ambulance

    Pros

Unlimited amount of hours, over time, most co workers are easy to work with. They finally have stair-chairs in every rig.

    Cons

It is a constant struggle between dispatch and the Emt's, if you make dispatch angry in any way they'll pretty much do you dirty in every shift, making your partners suffer as well. It's been admitted by dispatch multiple times that they will make someone's life miserable if you make them angry. It's just not right. Gps's are broken most of the time so you're forced to use your phone they'll shut off right in the middle...

    Advice to Management

Retrain your dispatchers, they'll send someone who is about to get off of shift to a long distance call while there is an ambulance posted near by who just started. Dispatch is the #1 reason why you lose Emt's. Fix your gps's/ power outlets/ ac's on the rigs

I have been working at Liberty Ambulance full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good for experience and patient care hours. They are always hiring because they are short staffed. 12 and 24hr shifts available

    Cons

Management does not care about their employees. Broken equipment is often handed out. Some ambulances are in bad condition and pose a safety threat.

    Advice to Management

Respect crew members and they will work harder. Boost company morale.

I worked at Liberty Ambulance full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great starting point. Good place to learn the business. Decent pay & good PTO. Plenty of hours if you want it.

    Cons

Lacks on going training. Management is quick to jump to conclusions.

    Advice to Management

Management 101 teaches active listening and resolution. Not everything is black and white. Once an employee becomes a number, you lose them quickly.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Liberty Ambulance full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

This is a great job to start out as an EMT if you plan to pursue your education further or become a paramedic. Call volume is decent to gain experience under the supervision of a paramedic.

    Cons

No room at the company to move up if you want to move into management. Management is chosen by favoritism and the company doesn't always follow its own policies. (Policies subject to change whenever suitable for management). Also EMTs only paid 13 out of 24 hours unless up at night and only shift available is a 72/96 hour split which gets exhausting.

    Advice to Management

Allow opportunities for employees to enjoy coming to work. For example let employees bid for partners they actually enjoy working with rather then putting the most incompatible employees together.

I worked at Liberty Ambulance part-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great people, Good training, Excellent opportunities to exercise skill set. Large service area gives opportunities to work every aspect of emergency medicine.

    Cons

Limited promotional opportunities and pay. Regular turnover due to hiring brand-new EMT's and Paramedics who do their training and gain experience in the desert environment and then move on to denser, higher paying areas in the state.
