I have been working at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - great benefits - flexible work time/work from home options - close relationship with management - monthly employee surveys that they actually listen to (we have MLK day off now because enough people mentioned it!)

    Cons

    - there's a big push on the numbers being perfect all the time, no room for error\ - other companies pay more for the same experience level in the same jobs

I worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The company rewards high performers well.

    Cons

No loyalty. It is a "What have you done for me lately?" company. Claims work by nature cause burnout and their model exacerbates this.

I have been working at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Some work from home days, 401k match and pension

    Cons

Lack of advancement opportunities, negative working environment, poor management, lack of trust in management, retaliation (This company acts as if it prides itself on its core values yet acts completely adverse to what it portrays its values to be)

I have been working at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great Benefits for education and time off.

    Cons

You will excel in claims with Liberty Mutual if you are comfortable swimming in quick sand. The expectations of your job change minute to minute as well as person to person. The only metric they care about is iLTR and the ratio is not in your favor. For example if you get 1 negative survey and 2 positive you will have 0% of the expected 62% you are to achieve. The 1 negative survey will always outweigh the positive and leadership does not like when you point that out. BIG NO NO to discuss how unfair the metrics are . . . again you have been warned. Liberty wants to be top 3 by any means necessary and that means getting rid of people if they cannot meet all the metrics and burning through employees in the process. If you decide to apply, please only go to Plano, TX location because they are looking for any reason to close the regional offices. You will be assigned claims on weekends and holidays, the metric for 24 hour contact will still apply even if the office is closed. They do not have support for staff that is out of the office so despite offering a large amount of time off you will be terrified to take the time. The stress is too much to handle to be honest which is why I am leaving. They have changed from 37.5 hours to 40 hour week with no overtime despite assigning you 7+ multi car accident claims a day across Safeco and Liberty.

    Advice to Management

You need computers not people, invest in robots to work claims.

I have been working at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Company is socially supportive of equal rights and diversity in the workplace. Great place for LGBTQUIA and minorities to feel welcome. Work from home options. Good amount of vacation.

    Cons

The work is stressful that is for all claims roles, but some of the metrics and procedures make it even more difficult. The work is not exceptionally hard, but there is a lot of it and it is easy to feel burnt out. The company has a few deceptive practices when it comes to promoting including having a certain person in mind for a role and posting a job announcement and letting others apply knowing they are going to pick the one person. Not alot of opportunity.
