I have been working at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Leadership cares, culture is great and continuing to progress across different business units, development of talent is important at all levels, we give back to the community and put customers first - not just in theory but in practice!

    Cons

Some benefits are excellent while others suffer in comparison - up to date with the market but it's always one thing improves while another diminishes which is frustrating.

I worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    1. Benefits especially Tuition Reimbursement , 401K match 2. Good opportunities to grow 3. Work from home option 4. Pay is above average with other companies in peer group 5. Great opportunity right after college 6. Investment in community.

    Cons

    1. Culture - passive aggressive, a lot talk but can’t deliver, “apple polisher mentality” 2. Professional Development Programs have seen dilution especially CDP and ADP 3. Middle management to Director level is weak. Especially from a strategy and innovation perspective. 4. Reluctant to change and truly be innovative in most departments

    Advice to Management

    1. Culture and diversity is more than just ERG, Women’s Conferences etc. the mentality of the individuals Liberty is bringing into the org are entitled and are similar. Need diversity of thought. 2. Grow opportunities should not be on tenure but performance and skill. 3. Retain talent - multiple reorganizations and lack of strategic rigor has driven out your most talented people.
