    Pros

Liberty promotes a supportive environment. There are many ways to build leadership skills and gain experience that will help you move forward in your career. Great place to learn customer service, negotiation, and time-management. Great pay and compensation.

    Cons

Work in the claims office, while there are great things to learn, the work can become redundant and dry. There's high turn-over, and since it's a volume job, when a teammate leaves others are inundated with cases and catching up. Can also be difficult to take time off for the same reason, you're playing lots of catch up when you get back.

    Advice to Management

I recommend looking at staffing models, as there are too many cases per person, and taking into account the continuous turnover, people have too much on their plates to meet expectations and feel like they're doing a good job.

I have been working at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Family oriented, very helpful and great environment. Management is very accommodating. Excellent benefits and great work place for family oriented individuals.

    Cons

Lack of opportunity for true "advancement" and the pay scale needs work. There should be a pay-to-work incentive where bonuses and raises are based on the work put into the office.

    Advice to Management

Pay structure needs to be better with better incentivised bonuses and raises.

Good benefits and good work-life balance. Friendly staff and decent place to work especially if you are starting your career.

I have been working at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fortune 100 Company, good 401K matching, great colleagues. 4 month training programs allows you to learn products and company.

    Cons

Limited opportunities to advance unless you are in Boston. Management is unsupportive and self-serving. You pay for all license and marketing expenses upfront and are reimbursed 3-4 weeks later.

    Advice to Management

Employee surveys should be a tool used to improve the workplace year after year. Please listen to the feedback from your employees. It is invaluable. Also, please remember that your reputation is built on your customers as well as you EMPLOYEES. My experience at this company was overall negative because of the way I was treated.

    Pros

Management is always there to support and assist you. The focus is to develop your sale skills and sell more product.

    Cons

The company unfortunately is more expensive and therefore it makes it tough to sell in some areas. At times it feels like the company doesn't want to sell policy's.

    Advice to Management

Make Liberty Mutual more competitive. Instead of giving sale leads to call centers send them directly to the sales reps. You will find customers would rather work with someone locally than in another state.

    Pros

Good place to start a career, decent advancement opportunities.

    Cons

Upper management is quite detached from the day to day operations of the job. Compensation isn't the greatest. Difficult to break into management.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to feedback from lower level employees. Compensate employees better. Competitors pay much more.
