I worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Decent pay, great benefits, and great people

    Cons

High call volume (literally back to back calls all day with no time to rest in between) Cannot take bathroom breaks without your manager talking to you about it being a bad behavior Very hard to move up, and when you get feedback from the hiring manager as why you were not selected you will either get a lot of fluff, a flat out lie, or nothing at all They tediously track all of your metrics and throw them in your face when your not meeting them. If you are not meeting your that gives them a reason to not let you move up into another position. When you are making your numbers and denied for another position numbers don’t matter. If you don’t have a member of management vouching for you will never move up. They work you to the ground so you earn every penny of your pay check.

I worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good work life balance, excellent FTO and personal days. Work from home flexibility. Great benefits and great co workers

    Cons

Chaotic management style, leadership will tell you what you want to hear but their actions are the opposite of their words. Misleading with a false sense of security. When it’s good it’s very good but when it’s bad it’s unbearable.

    Advice to Management

Be honest and transparent. Do not mislead employees.

I have been working at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great benefits, plenty of FTO and work schedule flexibility

    Cons

Difficult to find career paths outside the norm without significant help from others Upper management has decided that "Agile" means "if it doesn't work immediately then throw the whole thing away" causing an unstable business environment due to CONSTANT reorganization

    Advice to Management

give departments a chance to hit their stride before you go re-arranging things. Constantly knocking things back to square one does not build confidence or strong business relationships
