I worked at Lieberman Research Group full-time

    Pros

Free food, casual work clothes, ability to work from home. All stuff you would expect from a company these days. If you’re entry level and have a good manager, you’ll learn the basics.

    Cons

Poor work life balance, low pay, long hours, lack of recognition, lack of upper management. Burnout is common and stress levels are high. Too many politics, and decisions seem to be emotionally based instead of rational. Your success is also largely driven by your manager and the opportunities they give you. Some are really great managers, others not so much and will make your life very difficult. Hiring and layoff...

    Advice to Management

Regardless of what you preach, your pay is incredibly low. Get rid of the politics and stop letting the wrong people make decisions. Listen to your staff and don’t sweep problems under the rug.

I have been working at Lieberman Research Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Free food just about every day, nice people to work with, decent atmosphere, location of headquarters isn't too bad, opportunity to work remotely, summer Fridays, casual dress code.

    Cons

The partners don't seem to have much skill at managing. I've had a string of bad bosses who, while competent at doing their jobs, have few or no people skills and are difficult and often painful to work with, so clearly the partners are not good at hiring the right people. But more importantly, the company went through a period of far too rapid growth in 2016 and early 2017, including the acquisition of another market...

    Advice to Management

The only advice I have isn't helpful now, but if I had been asked this a few years ago, I would have said to put the brakes on hiring immediately. It was foolish to expand so rapidly in such a short period of time and we all knew it. Why didn't the partners know it?

I worked at Lieberman Research Group full-time

      Pros

Nice people, and free food if you're on-site. That's about it.

      Cons

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone with prior research experience. Lieberman hires a good number of interns from the Masters of Industrial/Organizational Psychology program at Hofstra and several of them have become the "shining stars" of the company. You'll know who these folks are - they're promoted pretty much every year, are protected by their superiors and loved on by the partners. Everyone else just fills...

        Pros

I've been at Lieberman for over 4 years now. I feel lucky that I get to work with such an intelligent and kind group of people. All of the partners seem to truly care about their employees.

        Cons

Some employees work A LOT. It's important to have a good work/life balance and for some teams, there is no balance.

I have been working at Lieberman Research Group full-time for less than a year

        Pros

Receiving an offer of employment at Lieberman is the best thing that could have happened for my career. After leaving the industry for a few years, I was delighted to be afforded an opportunity at my top choice firm. My supervisor was entirely aware that I would be rejoining the industry after a lengthy absence and has been fully devoted to helping me get back up to speed such that I could be an asset to the organization....

        Cons

I wouldn't call this a "con", but others might. I wouldn't recommend looking to work here unless you are looking to work as part of a team and willing to make client needs a priority. I think it's exciting, but it may not be for everybody.

I have been working at Lieberman Research Group full-time for less than a year

        Pros

One thing that has really made Lieberman stand out from other companies is that they genuinely listen to employee's opinions and suggestions, no matter what position level you are or how long you have been with the company. The partners are all very approachable and attentive. My current supervisor has set reasonable expectations for the tasks assigned and will always give a time/date when they are due, which I very much...
