I have been working at Life Care Centers of America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Smart team. Considerate, professional management. Area leader for customer satisfaction.

    Cons

Not enough space. Typical nursing challenges (concrete thinkers at management level and lack of common sense at aide level).

    Advice to Management

Nursing: Lose the rigidity and stop looking the other way at aide issues. Rehab: Improve organization and space use.

I have been working at Life Care Centers of America full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great support services, company mission, values, and customer service. Room for growth and relocation.

    Cons

Long hours, high turn over, trying to cut costs.

    Advice to Management

When dealing with licensed professionals need to allow for more autonomy and less micromanagement. Morale/team building is in need of great improvement. Senior management promotes and hires based on patronage with unqualified/unlicensed mediocre performers.

I worked at Life Care Centers of America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

great management, great co-workers, 12- hour shifts, opportunity for overtime, good work-life balance, learned a lot! Acute rehab is an awesome learning experience! If you let the charge nurse or supervisor know you are interested in caring for a patient with a certain diagnosis/wound/med/etc, they will be sure to give you that opportunity as soon as such a patient is admitted. Hard work is noticed and appreciated.

    Cons

shifts ran over to 13-14 hour shifts frequently, but overtime compensation was paid and with only 3 shifts per week, I didn't mind!

    Advice to Management

Sara was my supervisor at the time. She was awesome! She jumped in to help when nurses were busy with admissions, phone calls, orders, etc. She didn't see herself as any "better" than any of us floor nurses and did all she could to help out wherever she was needed. Hard work was recognized and appreciated during my time working at LLCA.
