I have been working at Life Care Centers of America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good company to work for and decent opportunities. they have alot of buildings so if you are a good employee and you want to move they may transfer you so you dont have to look for a new job.

    Cons

the company is a good one but they do not pay very well at all and they expect alot out of you with no reward.

    Advice to Management

listen to your employees when they say that they arent making enough money (within reason). you will loose and have lost good employees because of this.

    Pros

Nice place to work with many great people to work with. Good health insurance benefits, at least compared to other facility like it.

    Cons

Terrible management that constantly blame front line workers instead of taking own accountability. Managers have no idea how to manage,. They only think about the bottom line even if they put workers and the company at risks.

    Advice to Management

Need to value their front line workers and provide all the resources they need to provide the highest quality of care. Doing so will save you more money in the long run.

    Pros

Great group of people to work with. Staff feels like family and I have never worked in an environment where so many people care about my well being, are happy to go to work everyday and care so much for each and every resident!

    Cons

Its tough to lose someone in your family , and one of the things you have to deal with is death. It never gets easier, but you have a better understanding of what it entails and that you never want to see someone suffer.

I worked at Life Care Centers of America full-time

    Pros

Working with the patients and families was a great experience. Provides an opportunity to give good care and learn about this population and their needs.

    Cons

The upper management staff does not care about the employees or anything going in with the employees. The insurance is okay but the compensation is poor for the amount of work you are expected to do. There is constant drama and the "senior staff" aid in that drama. The executive director is extremely disrespectful and does not value her employees. Corporate does not listen to staff concerns in regards to management or any of their suggestions. The culture and values that are stated highlight the patients and their care but they will cut staff to save a buck even if it means the patients will suffer. The ED puts staff in a position to basically be unlawful and force patients to stay in the facility longer than they need to for a profit. Could be a really great place to work If corporate would stop ignoring the little people that keep the facility running daily.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your staff when they tell you there is a problem. Get a new ED.
