    Pros

Great team, great people and the industry's best product line up without question and looking to drive that further with new innovations.

    Cons

Heavy workloads with huge expectations based on the resources available. Scaling up of resource will be needed to drive this awesome business forwards.

    Advice to Management

Getting the right people will ensure that customer intimacy is achieved and understanding each others role will make a more cohesive team.

I have been working at Life Fitness full-time

    Pros

Can usually work a flexible schedule
    People are generally friendly

    Cons

The upper management has no idea what it takes to create quality software. This was a hardware company that has only recently needed to create software, and is unwilling to adopt modern software processes.

This company is currently in a push to double its revenue to $1.5 billion by 2020, a goal that is generally perceived internally as impossible. The result of missing that mark is that the company has started cutting bonuses and squeezing people into every last space available, resulting in declining morale.

I worked at Life Fitness full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There is a gym onsite and you can use it any hr of the work day.
Very relaxed culture and lack of accountability.

    Cons

The company is run with a "boy's club" type atmosphere where its all about playing favorites with certain crowds. You need to be well liked for advancement and those with skills and experience are not rewarded. Several incompetent managers who try to please everyone and end up with nothing getting done well. If company continues to operate this way, it will force the good employees out as there is no incentive to work hard.
Pay is 10-15% under industry standard.

    Advice to Management

Cut out the poor performers in middle management. Reward competent employees that work hard with a proven track record rather than those that are in the "in-crowd". Give better benefits and reward incentives for achieving targets.

I worked at Life Fitness full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

On site Gym is outstanding. Teamwork among upper management can be good. But loyalty is questionable.

    Cons

as a manager you will have to deal with a union workforce that has no performance standards, no daily metrics, and a very unmotivated team of Supervisors, coordinators, and dock workers. They have been mistreated for so many years it is very difficult to motivate them and nearly impossible to hold them accountable for anything. The HR department is very weak and doesn't support management. Even after 'they' issue disciplinary action they flip and reinstate with pay once a grievance is filed. This practice completely takes away the authority of the management team.
The company is in a large downturn and just finished it's 1st wave of layoffs.
As a team we worked 50% of our weekends this year and it is only picking up.
There tends to be a lot of finger pointing between facilities due to lack of training in the middle and lower management ranks.

    Advice to Management

Give your managers the tools they need and the backing to make the changes that you are seeking.

    Pros

    * Good company benefits
    * Management tries to do right by its people

    * Most employees don't really believe in the product; it's just a job.

    Advice to Management

Streamline the company. There is too much redundancy and poor communication. Stop gobbling up companies and focus on improving the core product.
