I have been working at Life Time Fitness part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, free gym membership, some mediocre discounts on products and services. Great when I started. Was able to get my CPR certification for free.

    Cons

The company does not value its employees very well. Everyone is underpaid except personal trainers, sales and managers. If you let them, they will overwork you. They don’t bother to care about breaks unless you speak up for yourself. The company is also sketchy about firing people for questionable reasons. Additionally, they reduced everyone’s discounts by 10% and reduced the 401K contributions. Part-time isn’t eligible for any benefits, however, most of the staff is part time. It’s a caddy environment and you’re always needing to look over your shoulder. I’m constantly put down in my position by the sales guys. Also, at this location in particular, the members treat you like crap... but hey, that’s customer service in Potomac, MD.

    Advice to Management

Treat your lower level employees better and not just the sales and personal trainers and stop taking away from them.

I worked at Life Time Fitness part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The free gym membership and discounts. Also, you could bring a free guest any time.

    Cons

You are the face of the company for all the other departments mistakes. All the negativity in the club comes to you. There is a lack of interdepartmental communication.

I have been working at Life Time Fitness full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Beautiful Facility to work in.

    Cons

NO work/life balance. PTO offered is minimal and doesnt pay well. Insurance is the worst Ive ever had. Everyone in the building puts on a happy face but behind closed doors everyone is miserable and looking for employment elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

If you want the best performers to come work for you then stop treating your employees so poorly.

Too many to list them all, but some of the standouts are the people and relationships built with members and other team members, flexible hours, and a free membership to the best gym around.

Too many meetings, not enough pay
