I have been working at Life's WORC full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I worked at Life's WORC (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    The benefits & free food

    Cons

Basically everything else. If you want to be over worked, over stressed and under paid, come work here. Agency used to be one of the places to work, now the whole environment has changed and although they claim to keep the same values, the decrease in employee morale is beyond noticeable. This is basically an non-profit, operating at corporate level deadlines with non-profit pay.

    Advice to Management

Compensate your staff accordingly, and most important don’t bat a blind eye at agency morale and turn over

Staff needs to be properly trained to do their job.

I have been working at Life's WORC full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You get to eat leftover food from meetings after the upper management have their meetings.

    Cons

The downside of working here is the hostile environment. These positive reviews that are posted here are not truthful. The people who write them are asked to, or asked after they have submitted their resignation. Staff in the Main Office are asked to go and write reviews. They do not like when there are negative reviews on here especially about the CEO who is not a leader of any sort. All anyone needs to do is to go on the vacancy list on www.lifesworc.org and take a look. Why are there so many vacancy's on a daily basis. Ask that questions when you go in for a interview. Let's see what answer you would get. Turnover is out of control, people are being terminated for unknown reasons all the time. However, you still have those people who walk around with their fake smile. There are plenty of other places just like Life's WORC all over LI, they want everyone to think they are the best. They are not. They had to add videos to their website of staff (who are fairly new) to say how wonderful it is to work there, bunch of garbage.

    Advice to Management

I do not believe writing anything would do any good.

I have been working at Life's WORC full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits and focus on work life balance. There is strong leadership and opportunities for advancement. Management seems to have become more focused on leadership development which is a good thing!

    Cons

The Industry is changing and so the company seems to trying to adapt. That means systems are changing which can be hard for us because it feels like more work initially.

    Advice to Management

Keep communication open and teach us the changes in the industry so we understand the effect on our job. Overall a great place to work.

I have been working at Life's WORC full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I have enjoyed my 5 years working in the main office. The atmosphere is positive overall, with excellent employees who are willing to assist each other whenever needed. I have found that my supervisors/managers take the time to listen to my opinions and take them into consideration. The benefits are great - better than I ever had in the private/for-profit sector. Work/life balance has been consistently excellent. I highly recommend joining the team.

    Cons

Salaries tend to be a bit low, but are compensated for with great benefits. There is a lot of change in the industry as a whole (not just at Life's WORC) and employees that are not onboard or willing to adjust can be negative and uncooperative.

    Advice to Management

Continue to listen to employees at all levels and continue to create more opportunities for advancement.

I worked at Life's WORC full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Working with the individuals is the most rewarding part of the job.

    Cons

Not enough staff and consistent staff turn over. Senior/Upper Management out of touch and under qualified. They worry more about positive review on Indeed and Glassdoor then fixing major issues in this agency. Senior Management directs staff to write positive reviews - don't let them fool you!

    Advice to Management

Stop worrying about your reviews on Indeed and Glassdoor and fix what is really going on in your agency. Shame on you.
