    I worked at LifeCare full-time

    Pros

This was great place to work before and during college. Schedule is flexible and the people on the call center floor are great. In the beginning work was slow but they figured out the formula and it is constant. Benefits are great. Pay for the work is great.

    Cons

No where to go. Typical call center stuff. Penny Pinchers ( I mean really bad). Usually younger employees leave due to lack of mobility and favoritism. It is easier to cross Niagara falls on a Bicycle then to move from operations side (call center) to administration.

    Advice to Management

Lots of talent has left due to questionable promotions and lack of. Really inject diversity into your company. Allow some to move upwards and allow competition over positions. Operations knows the product and should be considered first for admin. positions.

I worked at LifeCare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The call center team and the specialists upstairs were really nice! And just knowing that we are helping people find their benefit and getting them to where they need to be is rewarding. We are saving lives and assisting people through great times and also bad times in life. The pay could have been better but was manageable, time off and vacay was pretty good there. I enjoyed the different shifts and flexibility with the scheduling.

    Cons

The trainer I am not allowed to say names on here wasn't too good. She was very combative and aggressive for no reason at all. She did a lot of talking instead of really listen to certain things people had to say/ask. It was her way or the highway. when it came to training. If it was something she didnt know, she still would not admit she was wrong. She was not a great trainer at all, a lot of people complain about her and could not wait to get out of training so they didn't have to deal with her. Even when there were guests speakers to assist training from other large companies she would make it her duty to cut the person off and ramble on about things. She always wanted the spotlight for some odd reason.
The insurance package was horrible, you had to spend about 3k-5k to receive full coverage, it was just horrible. The management team were not skilled enough to be managers. They had longevity at the company but they did not have the knowledge and skill to assist us on the floor. 90% of the time when you contacted one of them for assistance they would not have the answer and end up asking one of the specialist for assistance instead of them assisting. From the trainer to managers it wasn't a good experience. They only promote family or friends.

    Advice to Management

I have no advice to management because we need to get whoever is above them advice. Select new management, monitor your management team more and make sure your employees are satisfied and getting the assistance they need to be the best specialists they can be. The management team should also get monthly or quarterly reviews. Employees feedback will help push a company forward and feel better about the company. Overall great company but horrible management staff.

    I worked at LifeCare full-time

    Pros

Coworkers; hours. Never felt guilty asking for help; always felt supported by other team members.

    Cons

PTO is generous but impossible to use. If you wanted a day off in June, you had to request it around January just to be sure. Cases become untenable and unrealistic, eating up tons of productivity.

    Advice to Management

If you try to do everything, you'll end up accomplishing nothing.

I worked at LifeCare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great work/life balance (vacation time, health benefits, 401K)

    Cons

Minimal room for upward mobility within company. You have to beg and plead for a raise. Since benefits are so wonderful, they expect employees to accept that they are underpaid and overworked.

    Advice to Management

Promote from within before hiring from the outside. No one knows the system better than the people in the trenches doing the everyday work.

There is a seemingly high turnover rate at LifeCare which makes people anxious and nervous.. seems to be only the top guys however

I have been working at LifeCare full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Being at LifeCare is like having a large extended family that I get to see every day. Each team member is encouraging, helps out when needed, and the company as a whole is open to new ideas. LifeCare knows that people have busy lives and provides flexible work arrangements.

    Cons

The traffic getting to work can be a hassle.

    I worked at LifeCare full-time

    Pros

family oriented, amount of time off, work/life balance, mission of company is great.

    Cons

call center metrics, overworking employees to catch up to the growing business created resentment and bitterness. The people on the phones were the front line for client retention; they should be treated accordingly.

    Pros

Benefits are good and team leadrers and co-workers are great. Original core service model is what built the company but it is being neglected for a new model that is not working.

    Cons

Under new management since July of 2010 and changing the company service model and culture. It is not working. Lots of fear and misery. No new sales and service to exisitng clietns is suffering terribly.

    Advice to Management

Seek first to understand, then to be understood. This once great little company is rapidly sliding into the muck.
