I worked at LifeWay Christian Resources full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

LifeWay gave me excellent benefits that took care of my whole family. They showed a lot of trust in my abilities and gave me plenty of opportunity to grow. I always had someone I could ask questions to and never felt like I lacked support from my upline.

    Cons

There were times that I would give feedback in certain areas or express needs for my store and the departments responsible for those areas would be unable to help due to logistical complications.

    Advice to Management

Keep showing the value you place in your employees.

I have been working at LifeWay Christian Resources part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Sunday’s off, manager’s understand/ care, like minded staff

    Cons

Not a lot of hours, sometimes “make the costumer happy” doesn’t always work. Being in limbo about stores closing or not.

    Advice to Management

I feel we need to follow what the coupons say, regardless of how it was in the past. This would take away 70% of the frustration associates have.

I have been working at LifeWay Christian Resources full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Share your faith and help hurting people.

    Cons

Salary and mismanagement at the top. Stores are closing due to slow/no reaction from the CEO. Shouldn't hire a Pastor to be a Retail company president.

    Advice to Management

    Retire

I worked at LifeWay Christian Resources full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I was on a good team, enjoyed remote work, and most of the projects were fun.

    Cons

Constant power play from other teams and the business side. Terrible leadership on business side. Lots of pointing fingers and blame. Under paid and little to no raises.

    Advice to Management

Lifeway IT was headed in the right direction, there was good leadership and a healthy wall was being built between bad business management and IT. However, that hurdle could not be overcome, and it lead to toxicity and a bad work environment. Then, all the good people began to go, and the leadership in IT crumbled. Also you have to pay developers what they are worth, and need to give out minimum cost of living raises. If I had ended up on any of the other teams rather then the one I was on, I would not have stayed more than 6 months.

I worked at LifeWay Christian Resources full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Swanky new office with lots of bells and whistles—free video games to play on almost every floor. Pool table and skeeball available as well. Lots of places to play!

    Cons

Leadership is a joke. And there are far to many leaders. Many employees were cut, but not from the top (where the cuts would have been more affective).

    Advice to Management

There is no cream at the top. There are to many managers. Somehow those people are not cut when other employees are cut.
Be honest with employees. The only thing Christian about the company is in the name. Leadership doesn't understand what Christian means. It's a cut throat business. It's all about the almighty dollar, and the regular employees don't see that dollar. No raises, cuts in benefits, no retirement benefit. And no unemployment benefits!! (And there are a lot of unemployed people from LifeWay now.)

I have been working at LifeWay Christian Resources full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits package and new building to work in.

    Cons

Poor leadership from the vey top, Dr Rainer, all the way down. Poor business decisions and a lack of knowledge in how to operate a publishing/retail business has caused employment levels to plummet as well as the financial health of the company.

    Advice to Management

Seek advice from others on how to successfully operate a business.
