I worked at Lifetime full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The other assistants I worked with were great. There was a camaraderie among us. In my position, I did get overtime so that was nice, as I rarely worked an 8-hour day.

    Cons

I had a particularly difficult boss so my struggles were worse than others and I only stayed a year or so. The other assistants in my department were there for 4-5 years with no hope of getting promoted. The majority of assistant jobs are "career" positions, though they don't tell you that going in.

I have been working at Lifetime full-time

    Pros

Good Money if you live at the club. Amazing front line team members. You can meet a ton of new people.

    Cons

Aside from extremely unrealistic long hours and expectations, minimal initial onboarding/coaching, and "sink or swim" mentality, EXTREMELY poor management. You are treated like you mean nothing to the business. Every manager is emotional and runs their team under a dictatorship, so you are walking on eggshells constantly since you cannot be sure what mood they are in and what might set them off. VERY Corporate America and do not understand the policies and procedures for associate relations in Canada.

    Advice to Management

Look up Crucial Accountability/Crucial Confrontations/Solutions Focused Coaching and PLEASE consider becoming certified in this. It will help a lot with associate retention and turnover. You are absolutely going to lose all of your decent staff continuing on this path.

    Pros

Lifetime Networks can be a positive atmosphere. People seem to like working together and have a sense of humor about the programming. The staff coordinates small office parties in an attempt to keep things interesting. The work gets done pretty efficiently.

    Cons

Definite lack of feedback. I never received feedback about my job performance, even when I asked. My manager didn't really know what I was doing from day to day. There were definite cliques that seemed encouraged by those in management. Overall boring workload with few challenges.

    Advice to Management

Communicate! There were way too many guessing games about their vision or goals.
