    Great Growing Company

    Jan 10, 2023 - Product Manager
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

    * Company that embraces the volatility of our industry * Collaboration and focus on important projects * Great career growth paths available, lots of employees learning and stretching into new careers altogether * People focused and employees are genuinely kind to each other * Perks are pretty good * People are also smart, empathetic, and data driven * Product teams have large impact, collaborate across the organization, given autonomy to drive roadmaps * Leadership in Product and the Executive level are all smart and contexted

    Cons

    * Ad Tech is a volatile industry, and Liftoff adapts quickly to that. It can feel disruptive and without a vision at times * Global teams and global timezones are hard to manage. Flurries of meetings when offices overlap. * Hours can be long and expectations high

Very good culture, operates in exciting ad tech space

    Jan 6, 2023 - Account Strategist
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

    - Very supportive culture where top leadership invests in talent - robust training program - immigration support and extensive benefits -global company - opportunity to interact with colleagues from offices across the world

    Cons

    - because the company is in the ad tech space, Liftoff is dependent on advertisers sustaining and growing their budgets. Recessions are tough when clients cut budgets.

Not a good experience in engineering and product

Jan 2, 2023 - Anonymous Employee in Redwood City, CA
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

    - Some really thoughtful and dedicated people at the company - Some interesting work in data science and and analytics - Depends on area but there are growth opportunities with the right managers

    Cons

The vungle product leadership has not done a good job managing their team and delivering product value for Liftoff or Vungle. From a product standpoint, the vungle ad network is less developed and efficient than their competitive set. Product contributes very little to the company goals, sales seems to carry their water. This has hurt the value of the company and contributed to a declining share price. One bad habit of Vungle product leadership is they blame their employees for some of their bad decisions. They seem to ignore the input of the team and signs of a failing project, and when the project ultimately fails, they immediately blame their own employees. I think the vungle product leadership should take some responsibility for their mistakes. The vungle product leadership is disruptive and disrespectful in meetings and has been a hinderance to product execution. I've witnessed a few meetings where vungle product leadership has caused employees to cry. I don't feel comfortable being in that environment and I don't think its necessary to get results from the team. Vungle product leadership has created a toxic team culture. They seem to intentionally pit employees against each other by giving overlapping scope to product managers and then seeing who wins out. I don't think product management should resemble a gladiator ring. It creates an unhealthy team dynamic. Jeremy has good intentions but he isn't as comfortable with the product and engineering culture and process. He is ignoring the issues on that side of the house hoping they resolve themselves.

    Great for growth

Dec 29, 2022 - Senior DevOps Engineer in Redwood City, CA
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Great place to learn tons of things in a fast paced environment.

    Cons

Company goes with the market, which can be good during growth, but will do massive layoffs when things aren't so good.

    All Downhill post merger

    Dec 20, 2022 - G&A
    Recommend

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Great benefits and WFH ability - Great people and co-workers

    Cons

Management from exec down is a mess - work life balance does not exist - they say they care about all employees, but they really don't - favoritism/nepotism is very clear in certain teams. Exec team has changed numerous times in the past year and nothing came out except 5 rebrands. This downhill battle has been real before and after the recent layoffs.

    People First Company

Dec 9, 2022 - Anonymous Employee in Redwood City, CA
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Liftoff is a true people-first company. From offering opportunities for advancement, excellent benefits and perks that are above industry standard (a monthly wellness stipend, additional mental health and family planning support along with excellent parental leave benefits among other things), the company does an amazing job of creating a safe and tight-knit community where sharing of ideas is encouraged and promoted.

    Cons

This isn't a con but a general observation, as with any company that experiences high growth in a short amount of time, there is some chaos that results in a fast-paced environment and frequent changes. The company does a great job of communicating these and providing opportunities as a result of those changes.
