I have been working at Lightbridge Academy full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Opportunity for advancement. Employee recognition. The children and families. Ongoing training. Wonderful curriculum. Fantastic building, they are very thorough in their policies and procedures.

    Cons

I honestly can’t think of any cons at this time. This position has already taught me things I didn’t know and I feel like even the stressful moments have just made me a stronger employee.

    Pros

Your children get a discount if they attend, you get a one hour lunch, you work with over 45 other teachers.

    Cons

The teaching staff is 100% women who love to create drama, the director has no idea how to do her job, there is absolutely NO assistant or programs offered for special needs students despite a third of our students are developmentally behind

I worked at Lightbridge Academy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked here for almost two years and there were ups and downs but what job doesn't have those. This job requires a certain commitment that some don't have; you have to able to take directions from upper management without taking things to heart. This is a customer service business where you have to please the parents to an extent. Upper management does their best to ensure things go as smoothly as possible. There are some negative reviews up here but I strongly believe those reviews are from people that can't keep to themselves and ponder in gossip. If you need your child to get great care in a great facility then this is your place. The director Ms. Kerry is extremely knowledgeable in childcare and the owner Ms. Sue is a sweetheart that's always there if needed.

    Cons

It's not the highest paying job but it's worth it especially because of the precious faces you get to influence in a positive way day in and day out.

    Advice to Management

Ignore the doltish comments/gossip. Keep pushing through the hard times and bask in the great times because God is always on your side. I love you guys because you provided my with a job and for that I'm forever grateful. I'm also thankful that you entrusted me with the precious faces of those children. Keep the peace, love and happiness. I wish you guys all the success in the world.

    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

The relationships developed with the children, parents, and staff

    Cons

Where shall I begin?? Firstly,The administrative staff (THE DIRECTOR) lacks severe professionalism. She talks to some staff rudely, allows her daughter to do so as well.Claims to have numerous amount of years in the field, but fells at showing her knowledge. I find it quite sad how one person can run almost everyone out the building. Secondly, she admires staff for the gossip they bring back to her but overlook the hard workers and the committed staff members. Hires people that also lacks knowledge of the field and than blame others for their lack of knowledge. The pay is barely enough if you're expected to do your job and the directors. A lot of staff aren't happy with how they're being talked to or treated. It's a stressful atmosphere when it shouldn't be,all because the staff in the office is always angry. Lastly, everything is personal not business! Drama,Drama, and more Drama!

    Advice to Management

Advice to the director, retire or quit because obviously you don't have passion or an interest in what you do. Along with not mixing business with pleasure (allowing your daughter to play assistant director or director) when it is convenient for you! May you allow the future assistant director to help you and not consider it as " they're trying to do my job"!
