I worked at Lights of America (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Family ran company. Paid vacation, Medical and sick leave.

    Cons

Poorly managed company. Employees are constantly blamed for obvious management decisions. Management wants "outside of the box" thinking but they keep you tied down by a leash.

    Advice to Management

Start listening more to your employees. Don't antagonize your work force.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Lights of America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Wonderful Co-workers who became friends, PTO, Benefits

    Cons

Employees aren't treated fairly. No raises. No appreciation shown. Horrible horrible management. The whole environment feels toxic. Employees aren't given the opportunity to speak their mind. Even executive HR leaders don't feel like they have a seat at the executive table like the CFO. Everyone feels as if they dont have a voice at all. It's critical not only to actively solicit employee input, but to act on that input to make the workplace better.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating your employees like slaves. Appreciate all of the hard work they do and pay them for it.

I worked at Lights of America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    The employees are good people.

    Cons

The most negative and dysfunctional working environment I've ever been a part of. No protocols, no collaboration or any sense of organization and structure. No accountability from Management/Ownership and employees are treated terribly.

    Advice to Management

Employees need and want an opportunity to succeed and grow too! Provide employees with direction, set expectations and goals with some hope for compensation. Management has completely failed them and yet they continue to blame them? There is a lot of take but no give going on here.
