    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Lime Brokerage LLC full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Technology and engineering folks. Over the time, engineers have delivered good products. Some very exciting developments all driven by engineering mainly and great talent acquired over the years. Pretty much everyone in the company is nice to work with. Engineers are passionate about technology and business does care to keep people happy.

    Cons

CEO and business leadership. For a very long time, business has failed to materially change the direction of the company. Looks like the only thing they know is cost cutting and don’t have a clue regarding revenues and growth.

    Advice to Management

Sell the company or engineering assets to someone more capable.

    Pros

Great location, great office, some really great people when I started. Would love to have stayed on and grown with company

    Cons

New management came and cleaned house with no regard to employment levels. This started as a small company and was bought by a larger one with a long history. Upper management at the older company hardly changed any processes in the decades of doing business.

    Advice to Management

Be careful of market fluctuations and regulations. This will come and haunt you in the future. Be proactive with the exchanges and any new requirements they deliver.

    Pros

Your voice will be heard on the small teams that make up the organization

    Cons

Lack of long term vision for the technology and lack of any clear goals from management that would drive a better sense of camaraderie within the firm

    Advice to Management

Create a common goal or set of goals for the group to work towards and incentivize properly to achieve them

I have been working at Lime Brokerage LLC full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great place to begin a career (lots various technologies and projects)
5 weeks vacation and relaxed sick/working remote policy
Fun people. Both inside and outside the office.

    Cons

Politics. Politics. Politics. Lime has more politics than company 10 times the size
Arrogance of some engineers and engineering as a whole
Lack of communication across teams (leads to a lot of duplication of work)
Poor vision and lack of direction
People get stuck in undesirable projects for years
No chance for any sort of advancement

    Advice to Management

Mix things up!!! Have people work on new things and on different teams to get rid of the status quo. Set a clear vision for the company. Set a clear vision for a unified engineering team.

    Pros

    Vacation time (5 weeks)
    Casual Environment
Good co-workers with high technical skills
    Interesting work

    Cons

    Pay
Engineering treated as the outsourced team for sales in NY, not as equal
Bad or lack of management lead to bad and delayed products

    Advice to Management

Instead of listening to your middle managers, go down to the trenches; some of the middle managers are completely oblivious and don't know what day-to-day situation is anymore. Be clear about rewards and paths to promotions to retain employees.
