I have been working at Lincare Holdings full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The health benefits are ok. The vacation time and paid holidays are definitely a bonus. There is a potential to earn great wages and incentives if you are willing to put in the time.

    Cons

Reps do not get paid commission unless the referral clears billing. This can be very frustrating at times.

    Advice to Management

Review the way reps are paid and pay them for their hard work of bringing in the referrals which is the main goal.

I have been working at Lincare Holdings full-time

    Pros

Pro sports teams would be better suited to run this company! They treat their employees like kings and queens and pay very well for even part-time work!

    Cons

Low pay, low morale, greedy company overall

    Advice to Management

People cannot survive in today's world with the laughable wages you offer. The company thinks it is good business to take jobs away from North Americans (USA) so you can pay less to individuals in Central America to do a substandard job. All of that just so the rich can get richer and the poor get poorer. I am truly embarrassed to admit who I work for! By the way, I can only imagine that Kristen Hoefer resigned so soon after joining the management because she knew that many of her quality people would be losing jobs they excelled at! (Even with the $11.00 -12.00 an hour they paid new hires, we worked harder than most and struggled through increasing rents, utilities, gas, and groceries and STILL loved our jobs!) The true slap in the face is when they laid us all off to outsource our jobs to Guatemala!

I worked at Lincare Holdings full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay is OK, great if you are in a competitive bid area. It is good experience to be used as a stepping stone to a better job. Benefits are good and the positive difference you are able to make in peoples lives is one of those bonuses you can't really quantify. Most of the people you deal with have a progressive, terminal disease and what you are able to do for them makes a real impact on their quality of life.

    Cons

Treat employees like dirt leading to high turnover (50 to 80% depending on the position). You are constantly compared to areas with unfair advantages (competitive bid areas). Upper management doesn't care if regional or district managers treat employees poorly. They demoted the manager before me, even though all of his numbers were up that year (the awards were still on the wall when I started), because the district manager didn't like him. Corporate will do everything not to pay commissions or expenses. They refused to let me use my vacation and then took away my leftover days because I didn't use them in time. It is a lot like working for a company from the 1950's. The corporate culture creates an environment where you can't trust anyone. They will all stab you in the back, or sell you out, to keep corporate heat of their backsides. I felt like I had to constantly live in fear of being fired at any moment. They only know how to lead through fear. Not very innovative and they use an antiquated computer system. If you have a choice, work for someone else. I was never so happy to quit any job in my life as I was when I put my keys down and walked out that door for the last time.

    Advice to Management

Quit treating people like their disposable. You would think that with the insane turnover rate you have you'd look in the mirror. When I left there was 100% turnover of center managers in 1 year in my district. In my 2 years with Lincare there were 13 different center managers in 5 locations. It would be easy to dismiss as bad hires, but a 260% manager turnover rate and a 50 to 80% overall annual turnover rate is a monument to your hubris.
