    Pros

Worthy Cause for serving the needs of patients. People want to live at home longer, do better there healthwise, and deserve to be treated well

    Cons

Lousy Industry with drastic reimbursement cuts, declining service capability and unappreciative referral accounts. The industry is squeezed, so the service staff are asked to work insane hours for crap pay. Sales gets pulled in fifty directions with little to no quality "product" to sell, since low pay combined with long hours leads to massive turnover in the service departments.

    Advice to Management

    Streamline Workflow, Expand Territories

    Pros

Basically, you aren't stuck in an office all day long, being out on the road on your own is nice

    Cons

4 inservices per week expected from you, you paid for the in services and gas out of your own pocket and get reimbursed (unless they find some stupid reason not to pay you back, which happens OFTEN)
Management does forced ride alongs-- very nerve racking
Even top reps are making less than 60k a year.

    Advice to Management

    Less ride alongs, more positivity

I have been working at Lincare Holdings full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I enjoy my immediate team mates. Pay is decent in comparison to the work load. There are advancement opportunities if you desire to pursue them.

    Cons

As a Center Manager, it is very hard to retain support staff at such low wages. Service Reps tend to make in the $12/HR range, working on call weekends and after hours. These same employees can go to Apria Healthcare, have no on call at all, and make $16/HR or more. Another con is that no matter how good you perform month after month, if you slip just once, you are made to feel very unappreciated. There is a very oppositional attitude from partnering departments such as RBCO and O2 Conversion. Everyone always seems to be "passing the buck", making it extremely hard to find answers.

    Advice to Management

    Pay you people!

I have been working at Lincare Holdings full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    I can't think of any

    Cons

This used to be an alright company to work for but it is getting worse and worse. Management does nothing but stand around and gossip all day. They are cutting pay every month. I just lost 50%of my income and I'm currently looking for another job. $10 with a $0.15 raise a year is not cutting it now that they've made in impossible to make commission.

    Advice to Management

The CCC need new team leads and management that cares about their employees and tells them their doing a great job. The manager has no clue how to run a call center and I have no idea how she has kept her job this long.

    Pros

Got to work with a lot of interesting people, enjoyed helping patients and meeting their needs, very fast paced enviroment.

    Cons

This is a corporate driven company, they have no idea who you are personally, you are just an employee with a number, sadly patients are just a dollar amount.

    Advice to Management

They need to put away the spreadsheets, learn how to run a business, train the employees, pay them better and add more staff, with knowledgable staff, they might not lose quite so much profit.

    Pros

Wonderful people at my center to work with

    Cons

Too many to list, out of touch upper management. Border line illegal making you be on call without being paid. Turnover, turnover, turnover!! And no one in upper management cares at all. Why do so many people leave? Lousy pay, ungodly hours and no management appreciation.

    Advice to Management

Wake up stop making more hand written forms, actually go to a center and see what daily life is like. Not just a couple of hours. If you had to do what we do there would be changes made, and it wouldn't take 2 yrs either.

I worked at Lincare Holdings full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some of the people on the office staff are amazing.

    Cons

A Huge amount of turnover due to horrible management. A true lack of concern, awareness, or care from upper management. Lincare has become a very hostile working environment, management leads through fear. Advancement is almost non-existent unless you want the horrible position of a location manager. Customer complaints continue to be on an all time high.

    Advice to Management

Allow your office managers to manage and not be puppets. The fact that you continuously merge offices without increasing the staff, the lack of training, the favoritism that is obviously apparent. Area managers hanging out and drinking with their employees that do them little favors. The amount of unprofessionalism that exists is unbelievable. The mere fact that entire office staffs simply walk out of several locations without any upper management caring or even seeming as if they were concerned. The bottom line this all equates to horrible patient care.
