I have been working at Lincoln Financial Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company overall is amazing. Great benefits, competitive pay.

    Cons

Group Protection department and specifically the Short-Term disablity area is extremely disappointing. Senior management does not care about or value the employees wellbeing, time or effort that is put into these claims. They don't care about the fact that each examiner has almost 200 claimants. They expect you to work as if you are in a call center and answer every phone call which is literally impossible. The turnover rate is ridiculous as they have no way to keep new employees beyond 6 months after their training ends. Several managers have quit within the last 4 months alone. LFG overall is a great company, if you can get in anywhere else besides short term disability you'll be in a good place.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. If they are all overwhelmed, stressed, and upset DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Hire more STD examiners and figure out a way to boost employee morale and retain the people that you hire.

I worked at Lincoln Financial Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits and team atmosphere. They're also really good about promoting from within the company.

    Cons

Pay and annual review process. You really have to advocate for and self yourself. You will only get the minimum increase and must challenge/petition management for anything more (good luck).

Technology needs improvement. LFG needs to move into the digital age to accommodate the needs of clients that are already there. Also, I have never seen so much wasted paper and printer use, just for the sake of having a piece of paper to hold and then discard. Their green initiatives are severely lacking.

    Advice to Management

Expand work from home, wellness, and employee "perk" initiatives to provide better work-life balance.

    Invest in and expand technology.
