    Pros

The people and the product that is sold. It is unmatched in the industry.

    Cons

There is a lot of gossip and rumors that go around about people. Besides that it is an awesome place to work.

    Advice to Management

Micro management is where the company is going but it is very tough on moral with the people that are not in management.

    Cons

financial services doesn't feel as stable as it once was

I believe it is only a matter of time till the company fully recovers from this financial crisis. Strong commitment to our products and our employees have paid off well during the economic downturn.

    Pros

At Lincoln they truly care about how you are doing as an individual. There is an effort to have balance between work and family.

    Cons

Lincoln is not going to ever be the place that you go to work in order to recieve the top compensation available in your field.

    Advice to Management

Please keep up the good work. You have helped to steer us through the choppy waters the last few years.

    Pros

Quick recognition of potential, combined sick/vacation time package so you don't have to pretend to be sick, high 401k match, nice building/facility, transparent management style, lower than normal levels of office politics, dignified, respect for the employee and client, quick promotion, lots of encouragement, and the most impressive: they give it to you straight whether it's good or bad (recognizing when it's less than desirable, but set proper time expectations and stick to their word)

    Cons

The cafeteria food was a little expensive, parking was difficult, has a little bit of a "big brother" aspect (although that's essential in the financial services industry)

    Advice to Management

Keep up the excellent work. For call center/processing roles, consider flexible work schedules for a few reasons: better coverage of volumes, a better work/life balance for many employees (4x 10 work week= less commuting costs), less costs to firm in overtime pay

    Pros

Lincoln always offered great benefits (insurance, retirement and deferred compensation).
The management embraced sales distribution and therefore it is a great place for a salesperson to work.

    Cons

During the financial crisis, layoffs had to occur. They laid off about 10% of the sales force. This was much like all of their competitors.

    Advice to Management

Please keep the distribution focus and the great benefits and you will continue to attract the A quality sales professionals.

    Cons

    - Don't pay for internships
    - Have to have previous experience to know how to work in this field

    Advice to Management

    - Will be much better if the interns, at least, the ones with good performance, were compensated in some way.

I have been working at Lincoln Financial Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The opportunities for advancement are plentiful, management is fair (but firm) concerning HR policies, and the work itself is satisfying.

    Cons

The compensation, in comparison with other companies in the industry, are below the average. The Customer Care Center is also one of the lowest paid departments, even though Customer Care Professionals handle over 5,000,000 service requests a year.

    Advice to Management

I would investigate the industry for a salary comparison. I would also spend some considerable time cultivating talent from within if someone demonstrates a capacity to excel in a management role.

I have been working at Lincoln Financial Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Training program geared to get you out in the field, quickly, if you put in the work. This is a relationship business, so you have to have those relationships inside the office before they will trust you outside of it. That being said, I have had several opportunities to meet with upper management and they really care about developing their talent.

    Cons

You get out what you put in, which can lead to different levels of satisfaction if you are looking at this more as a job than a career. You really have to put in the time to develop relationships with the managers above you so they have a better idea of who you are before they are looking to hire.

    Pros

GREAT BENEFITS, Great job for young professional, decent salary, great opportunities for advancement

    Cons

Typical Desk job, not very flexible hours

    Advice to Management

Be more aware of employee's time, wish time could be more flexible and not have to have someone here during holiday time.
