I have been working at Lincoln Financial Group full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great retirement plan and solid benefits package; salaries and bonuses are reasonably competitive - not sky high, but certainly not bad either; company seems to genuinely value both its employees and customers; a positive work/life balance is encouraged (this can be team/department dependent); leadership is respected within the industry. All in all, Lincoln is a very good place to work.

    Cons

Career advancement is S-L-O-W, as opportunities for advancement are hard to come by. This is still a company where many employees stay for 20 or 30 years. That being said, management has listened to employee feedback on this topic, taken heed, and has tried to implement a formal career management framework and associated practices within the last few years. It seems that real change "in the trenches" has yet to be realized, however. If you're a motivated, hard-charging employee looking for a meteoric (or even moderately paced) rise to the top, it's probably not going to happen here.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work in the areas of employee engagement and continue to maintain a positive atmosphere. Continue working on concrete ways to help employees achieve professional growth and corresponding recognition/promotions.

    Pros

I am treated well and feel valued. I receive great benefits, I work with nice people at Lincoln. I feel fortunate to work for Lincoln Financial Group.

    Cons

There is always for improvement. Our team does not always communicate well and the work load is not always evenly shared across the team evenly.

    Advice to Management

Management could focus more on communication and less on micro managing the team.

I have been working at Lincoln Financial Group full-time

    Pros

LFG gives opportunities to speak with Management and Senior Leadership about concerns. They are concerned with employee satisfaction. The 401k benefit is generous at a 10% match. Employees receive 17 days PTO starting out (unless hired in at a higher PTO grade). Pay is competitive. Bonuses are given based on individual performance and profit performance. Many jobs offer flex time. Telecommuting is an option for some jobs. LFG supports the United Way and promotes diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

    Cons

The cafeteria food and vending machine food is expensive. Parts of buildings need updates. They seem to be slowly addressing the building updates.

    Pros

    Value D&I
    Benefits (Salary, bonus, 401k)
    Flexibility (Remote offerings)

    Cons

Would like to see more minorities in C-suite positions
Large organization with numerous departments; end result is working in silo's

    Advice to Management

Consider monthly enterprise department meetings to share/transfer knowledge across departments

    Pros

Great benefits. People aren't awful to work with, but they aren't raising the pay to match the industry so it's causing traffic jams in people moving up.
It's the only way to get better money.

    Cons

Start with awful pay. They force you to work crappy hours and say you will only be there for a short period of time, but it's probably not true.
They claim it's easy to move up, but you really need to play the system to be able to do it.
