I have been working at Lincoln Financial Group full-time

    Pros

None that I can think of

    Cons

They say that people don’t leave bad jobs, they leave bad managers. That is definitely the case in the Atlanta claims office.

The Directors and AVP are the most unethical people that I’ve ever encountered. HR and the VP are aware and choose to do nothing about it.

Steer clear of this office. You will be overworked, used and discarded. If you have integrity you won’t fit in.

    Advice to Management

How long are you going to allow the Directors and AVP to blame other people for the issues in the Atlanta office. They are incapable of doing their jobs yet they band together and lie about everyone else. Reminds me of the Trump administration.

There is a reason why the top employee benefit brokers will not even consider LFG for their clients. It’s embarassing to have that type of reputation in the industry.

    Cons

Could care less about accomodating medical conditions. Which is baffling from a company that provides Disability

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Benefits are good, the price you pay for them is not.

    Cons

Managers who don't know how to manage; no availability to anyone in management because they are always in meetings - this company has meetings to talk about meeting. You will have no work life balance at all!

    Advice to Management

Be available, hire managers that know how to manage not just go to meetings. 1:1 should be about the employee not the manager talking about how great they are!

    Pros

    Great 401k plan and peers

    Cons

Lincoln claims to be for their customers but has no focus on that. Many of the managers are clueless as to how to effectively manage a group of people and we're promoted based on who they were related to or went out to drink with. There is basically no human resource department as they do nothing to mitigate the misdeeds of managers who bully their workers to get what they want. Great employees are pushed out because they aren't "on the bus," while those that do not get their assignments done but, buddy up to the boss are praised. Do NOT go to work here. Substandard wages and no work/life balance.

    Advice to Management

Get a clue, hire some managers that know how to do their job not just say yes to you. Human Resources help people out, don't throw them to the wolves.

    Pros

    401K - excellent!
    Located near the highway

    Cons

The Atlanta Office is absolutely ridiculous!!!!!!!

It is poorly ran by the Senior Leadership Team. It is unhealthy to work there and very stressful. There is no work life balance and the morale has been at the extreme low for years. The Claims Examiners cannot be successful as the claims system is new, but antiquated at the same time. The performance requirements are unrealistic and the customer service is poor at every level. The Senior Leadership Team is unethical, valueless and missing a very important element of leadership called character.

The Senior Leadership Team is strategically underhanded and calculated. BEWARE of "leaders" with titles who have no leadership skills. They speak well but have no knowledge to back up what they say.

The environment is unhealthy, stressful and agonizing. There is favoritism, retaliation tactics and scheming behavior.

There is always backlog in Claims. I am surprised that they still have customers. A shame and a pity. The lies they tell to keep the business. If the customer only knew the truth. The Claims area is grossly understaffed.

DO NOT WORK FOR LINCOLN FINANCIAL IN THE ATLANTA OFFICE. CLAIMS IS THE WORST and THE SENIOR LEADERSHIP TEAM IS A NIGHTMARE!

    Take heed.......

    Advice to Management

    Find employment elsewhere.....please!

    Pros

Benefits are good, but they are even making changes here that impact the employee.

    Cons

They micro-manage everything which causes delays in all deliveries. With the current processes in place, the company is guaranteed to continue losing market share. Management is clueless when it comes to leading a team. They only care about themselves.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to compete effectively by removing some of the old dead weight waiting to retire.

    Pros

    Great insurance and 401K plans.

    Cons

If you are in search of a new career in claim management, RUN AWAY from Lincoln in the Atlanta office. Sr. level Management cares nothing about their staff. Managers were basically left to look like idiots in front of their staff. When you complained to HR, nothing was done about all the unethical issues that take place in this office. I'm unclear as to how this office is still operating. Directors were very inappropriate!! From discussing your personal business to other staff members to making inappropriate comments during management meetings. There's also favoritism within the staff as reported on previous reviews. Don't even think about trying to report all the unethical things they do.... you will be retaliated against. Because most of the favorite CEs are either related to/friends with Sr. leadership, you will suffer dearly if you report anything.

During your interview process, you will be advised there is work/life balance....THERE IS NO SUCH THING! The technology along makes it impossible to do anything fast.

I have never in my life worked for a company that is so poorly ran and just completely miserable to work for.

    Advice to Management

Sr. Leadership, if you want this office to succeed and become the "shinning star" of the company, you need to clean house, from the AVP to the directors in charge. Otherwise the favorite Claims examiners and Sr. CEs think they can continue to do whatever or say whatever and get away with it because they have the support of the AVP and directors.
