I have been working at Lincoln Financial Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company overall is amazing. Great benefits, competitive pay.

    Cons

Group Protection department and specifically the Short-Term disablity area is extremely disappointing. Senior management does not care about or value the employees wellbeing, time or effort that is put into these claims. They don't care about the fact that each examiner has almost 200 claimants. They expect you to work as if you are in a call center and answer every phone call which is literally impossible. The turnover rate is ridiculous as they have no way to keep new employees beyond 6 months after their training ends. Several managers have quit within the last 4 months alone. LFG overall is a great company, if you can get in anywhere else besides short term disability you'll be in a good place.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. If they are all overwhelmed, stressed, and upset DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Hire more STD examiners and figure out a way to boost employee morale and retain the people that you hire.

I have been working at Lincoln Financial Group full-time

    Pros

ive notice a lot of opportunity in growth here in the Atlanta office since we have a new larger location.

    Cons

with every corporate america job there are internal politics involved in how high you get to go and they definitely feed into that here.

    Advice to Management

i would like for people to have a clear understanding as to where their performance stands and what they specifically need to do to get better. it would also be nice to have a mentor-ship program.

    Pros

Variety of duties, ability to work from home, flexible hours, good benefits and time off, promotes furthering education by providing internal classes and tuition reimbursement and supports the community.

    Cons

Departments aren't always held to the same standards, depending on the division and unit employed in favorites drive the ship instead of the managers, feels more like a robotic paper factory than a company that sees their employees as people, some production units aren't able to leave the office until all work received that day has been completed, expectations can be unrealistic and usually have to leave a division or the company to get a decent increase in pay.

    Advice to Management

Remember that employees are the backbone of the company and everyone deserves to be treated like a person with the same opportunities. It's okay to reward all employees for a job well done instead of only the employees that are nominated.
