I have been working at Lincoln Financial Group part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

401k match is great and training is great

    Cons

Management is poor at communnicating. I can not count how many times something would come up and I wouldn't know about it. Also they will tell you, you are going to get paid for holiday hours, but you won't if your work part time under 20 hours and they specifically keep you at 19 hours for that exact reason.

    Advice to Management

Would Honest Abe, the man we model ourselves after, really do something that intentionally pays employees as little as possible?

    Pros

The benefits package is great!!!! You can apply for a new position after a year. People are great!!!

    Cons

    The pay could be better.

    Advice to Management

I think all managers should train with their team for at least 2 weeks to see what it is that their employees go thru on a daily basis.

I worked at Lincoln Financial Group (More than a year)

    Pros

Parking, 401k match, hours, cafeteria on site

    Cons

Micro manage to the nth degree, zero training other than on line LOMA courses which have absolutely nothing to do with the job. Toxic environment from senior examiners which is encouraged and fostered by upper level management. HR is a joke, they are more concerned about protecting management as opposed to enforcing federal harassment laws. Pay is horrible, and their metric system sets you up for incredibly insulting increases. AIP is a slap in the face considering the work you do.

    Advice to Management

Join the 20th century. (Seriously, the 21st century is too much of a reach for this company)Understand that your front line is your biggest and best asset.....and word of mouth is your biggest detractor. Use the skills of the people you hire, TRAIN your employees. Worst corporate environment ever!

    Pros

Like the hours. And love when bene's didn't know they were getting unexpected money from grandparents, parents etc. from over 20 30 years ago.. love their reaction..

    Cons

No sick days you have to use PTO, which is fine.. but if you wake-up sick and call in on the same day they write you up.. which is called an "occurrence".. so in other words if you KNOW you will wake -up sick the next day. Send an email the day before, because you WILL get written-up. and after talking with a few co-workers in the same department it appears that they were selective on whom they wrote up..

    Advice to Management

They don't care about their employees. IF you have a department that is downsizing (so they say) and employees are leaving out the door, if you have posting for other departments, why not work your hardest to set that employee up somewhere else in the company... tells me that you don't care.

    Cons

Managers are terrible, uneducated, and act like they are unable to assistant anyone.
    Pay is terrible
Everyone hates working here, so environment is dreary and depressing

    Advice to Management

Clean house. The claims managers are all too busy trying to sell outside things (avon, Mary kay) to give a crap. They treat everyone like they are expendable.
