I have been working at Lincoln Financial Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good salary, good retirement plan, solid company, friendly coworkers.

Room for advancement, if qualified. Would be easier if less-capable folks were let go.

    Cons

Unbending processes, no authority at manager level, politics-driven.

Upper management is totally unconnected with rank-and-file. Too many layers in the organization.

    Advice to Management

Shake up the process of getting things done. Empower lower-level managers. Get rid of, or retask, most of the project managers.

You're able to make some great connections to get a job after graduation and they highly recommend their past interns.
Learn the financial areas and how to work and be apart of an internal wholesaling team

    Cons

Not much work given to get you through the 8-5 day.
Competing against the other interns for future job offers.

    Advice to Management

Keep making the culture as fun and energetic as it is.
Try and find more work for the interns.

    Pros

They have excellent benefits, 401k, Std, Ltd, Life, Eap, Hsa, Accident, Critical Illness, cafeteria options, a friendly culture and community events to get involved in.

    Cons

Technology is behind in many places and systems are outdated so there are lots of temporary workarounds that become the new process. Hard to move up in the same department, most must transfer out of a department to see a pay bump.
