I worked at Lincoln Financial Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The 401k is great. You are fully vested after 2 years.

    Cons

There is a reason that you are fully vested in the 401k after two years. Working 2 years at Lincoln Financial Group feels like working 10 at any another company. The caseloads are way too high for any one individual to complete. The solution to these inflated caseloads is to work more overtime. All employees are burnt out after about 3 months of the job. The pay is much lower than the rest of the industry. There is extremely high turnover. There are no more than 3 claims examiners in the entire Atlanta office that have been employed longer than two years due to the turnover rate. There is a lot of office politics and employees often get fired with no real explanation. The company likes to preach that claims examiners are to help the customers in their time of need, but in reality all management cares about is numbers. The company tries to recent graduates. The only reason why most of the employees stay at Lincoln beyond the first few months is that they want to show that they can keep their first job out of college on a resume. Everyone in the Atlanta office is miserable. Do yourself a favor and don't work here.

    Advice to Management

If management would actually listen to advise, this wouldn't be such a terrible job.

I have been working at Lincoln Financial Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Lincoln has great benefits, compensation, and is a key employer in Fort Wayne. There is a great training program, offering opportunities for development along with tuition assistance. Six Sigma driven.

    Cons

A hierarchical approach to decision making often leads to negative, downstream impacts that front line employees have to deal with. Culture seems to be turning away from a people focus to a profit and business focus only.

    Advice to Management

Empower your front line workers, they have extensive knowledge & skills that go untapped.

I worked at Lincoln Financial Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

401k Match of is good. Also, there are lots of PTO days. Health plan is reasonable, but dental and vision are adequate

    Cons

Not enough support or resources. Training program is more about the way you dress & act. No training on the actual job that you do. Technology is even worse. Do not move your retirement plan to this company!

    Advice to Management

Replace the current RPS leadership and the Good Old Boy network. They've been there too long & there is too much nepotism.

    Advice to Management

Management could focus more on communication and less on micro managing the team.
