I worked at Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Laid back, ok starting pay, awesome time off benefits, small perks, easy work, great normal hours
    Some great people work there.

    Cons

Horrible management. Sure, they seem ok and friendly but honestly 2 faced. They'll smile in your face, then shut their office door and talk about you. No pay raises, we were a bunch of minions carrying all the load. Sweet head attorney but he is so blinded by what the head managers are doing when he's not around. To much favoritism and cliques.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to be a manager, learn to appreciate the minions. Learn not to talk about others behind their backs. Learn not to play favorites with the brown nosers.

    Pros

There are no pros with this company

    Cons

If you are not an Attorney or management you do not matter. They say there is an open door policy but if you go to upper management you get written up for saying what's on your mind. HR is a joke there. The HR person goes around telling your business to other employees and treats everyone like crap. There could be proof you did nothing wrong but they still write you up. People that are still there are scared to speak up knowing that they would fire you in a heart beat. Do not work for this company run the other direction.

    Advice to Management

Respect your employees because after all we are the ones that bring money into this company. Don't write your employees up for coming to you with a concern or a problem. If you want respect you have to give it. Open your eyes and see what is going on right underneath you.

I worked at Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Work is easy and interesting
    Good hours
    1 hour lunch breaks
You get to talk to some interested characters
    Good benefits
Extra actives outside of work to join/Luncheons

    Cons

Sitting at your cubicle all day doing the same thing can get monotonous
Lots of cliques exist within the office
A ridiculous amount of drama since the same people have been there for years
Some management is extremely unprofessional/picks favorites
    Treats workers like children
    Constant micromanaging
Absolutely no respect for people and their situations whatsoever. Whether it be cancer/any special situation your taught to be ruthless and collect with each individual no matter what
Some supervisors only put in their positions because they've been there for 6 plus years even though they don't know how to treat their employees with respect
The list goes on and on

    Advice to Management

Demote the people that obviously cause problems or at least give them some sort of talking to/write ups when incidents happen so they actually change their ways and the work environment becomes more productive

    Pros

Great benefits, centrally located. Lovely suite.

    Cons

Mid-Level management is very toxic, condescending, sarcastic
     and controlling and lack empathy.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of you Office/Operations Department. They are bullies and toxic to your environment. They have ZERO people skills.

    Pros

Good benefits such as paid time off that you accrue every paycheck and can use as soon as you're hired. Hours are great 7-4 or 8-5 and can get 10 hours of overtime every 2 weeks if your department allows it. Somewhat nice building with free covered garage parking. Can get hired with out much experience. Overall a good first job for a year or so if you need work experience, don't mind the low pay, and can survive working with unprofessional coworkers.

    Cons

Training is a hit or miss either the paralegal has time to train you or you have to pick up what you can which ultimately will cause major problems in your work and will bite you in the butt. High management expects so much work from every department yet doesn't put any one on one training in place to make work load easier. Also, they don't pay well at all. Turnover is very high. You will see new people every week. There is NO room for growth. Maybe one position above your own but even then you can not get a position higher no matter how many years you have worked at this firm. Raises are low and are not always guaranteed. This firm has a very unprofessional work environment to it and the lack of professional dress doesn't help.

    Advice to Management

Put a proper training system in place. The work you expect is tedious, monotonous and very detailed yet training is sporadic and is the reason why so many employees are lost at what they are doing. It shouldn't be this unorganized especially for a law firm that works on behalf of government entities.

I worked at Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson full-time

    Pros

Benefits - health insurance. Lunch brought in on several occasions. Most co workers nice but some hateful. Raffles. That's about all I can come up with.

    Cons

Heavy favoritism in the Dallas Office. Racism. Employees who complain constantly and do the least amount of work are the favorites. One of the managing attorneys is a bully. Workload is overwhelming - more and more tasks added to your plate because the so- called managers have no idea what they are doing. Most of the attorneys are rude and unapproachable unless you are a favorite. The list goes on and on. You must be a "yes" person and never point out flaws. That gets you on their bad side. They want work done but want to spend hours in meetings that aren't needed; going to Court to wait on the attorneys hand and foot.

    Advice to Management

Stop with your favoritism. Stop the revolving door. Listen to input from employees. Don't allow a bully attorney to run the show.

    Pros

You almost never see the managing partner come out of the office, which is a good thing when you have some down time.

    Cons

Well, to start the fact that they call themselves a law firm is a joke. This company is a debt collection agency. Even though the attorneys are constantly going to court and there are civil judgments to be filed, their main concern is collecting money. This wouldn't be a problem if you weren't trying to collect money from people who are deceased or destitute. But at Linebarger that's what you're hired to do and it slowly eats away at your soul as you become completely insensitive to others' situation. Management should take a course on how to keep their employees happy. Favoritism, not willing to see the hard work of their employees, and criticizing are among a few things that you will witness and experience on a daily basis. Management will never listen to their employees and will never promote them. Don't waste your time trying to work here, its not even a good job experience to have on your resume!

    Advice to Management

Needs to be more willing to promote, give bonuses and raises which pretty much never happen.
