I worked at LinkedIn full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

LinkedIn is a dream employer - they invest tremendously in each employee's success and truly care about your well being. In a sales role, you're motivated to hit your target and succeed. Bad managers are few and far between. You're constantly learning and the culture is young, vibrant, engaging. The perks are unreal. Pay is pretty solid as well - a mid-level sales rep can easily make $200K if they hit their number given the incentives, bonuses, and kickers. Can't speak highly enough about leadership and senior management - their transparency, availability, and inspiring abilities are unparalleled.

    Cons

If you're older, I'm sure LinkedIn can feel a bit young.
Some people aren't motivated and are simply there to barely get by and enjoy the amazing perks - LinkedIn needs to get rid of the bottom 20% of the org to keep everyone on teams motivated.
They tend to keep those who clearly won't succeed around for too long (i.e. 9-12 months), which causes pressure on managers and rifts within teams.

I worked at LinkedIn full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Really cares about culture, amazing food provided daily, and all the apps/resources one could ask for to be as efficient as possible. (literally had four different video conferencing apps)

    Cons

A lot of smoke and mirrors (politics). Watch what you say in your weekly meetings, with your manager.

    Advice to Management

    Quit

I have been working at LinkedIn (Less than a year)

    Pros

Start up mentality with goal to make employees happy. Free lunches, money towards fitness/dog walkers, and generous PTO. Company is very work life balance focused

    Cons

Having worked in outside sales before- being in an office environment everyday is the only con.

I worked at LinkedIn full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Incredible benefits (401k, health, ESPP, Perkup), free food all day long, fun and smart people

    Cons

Disconnect at the top from Marketing to Sales from the standpoint of promoting their products. LinkedIn's only competitor in Sales Solutions is itself- offering cheaper version of enterprise product online cannibalizes sales forces' deals all the time. Extremely frustrating.

    Advice to Management

Figure out if you want to have a happy LSS sales force that can actually sell deals or if you want to have a churn and burn sales force that will leave after 12 months time and again.

I worked at LinkedIn full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, friendly environment, amazing office space, perfect place to work. You also need to be perfect to get in and have the job.

    Cons

Long hours, demanding. You really need to work very hard. They have the same Google mentality. It is also very hard to get a job here since the demand is very high.

    Advice to Management

Thank you for supporting your employees and helping them to grow in their careers

I worked at LinkedIn full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

While culture is declining with their insane growth model and recent acquisition by Microsoft, it's still far better than almost any other company you can imagine.
    Top benefits
The people are the biggest reason you'll love coming in every day

    Cons

Sales leadership seems to be letting the org turn into more of a churn and burn than it has ever been. They are going through the challenges of becoming a massive sales org. Hopefully they can figure out how to keep the majority of their reps happy.

    Advice to Management

Time to rethink - the old ways aren't going to work anymore.

Amazing flexibility, perks and colleagues. Very smart group of people, and very open to feedback. Decent pay, opportunities for growth. Managers are very open to hearing about your ideas for advancement. Also dedicated to diversity and inclusion, it's a comfortable place to work.

Product engineering tends to take a long time to update products, but they are constantly working on product upgrades.

    Advice to Management

Continue supporting the way you are. Make sure that meetings don't go too off course.
