I have been working at LinkedIn as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Amazing management and great wonder co workers. Very collaborative work environment. Super yummy lunch! Best chefs in the Valley! Best recruiting team in the valley with honest and experienced recruiters who care about candidates.

    Cons

Process gets in the way. Ambiguity around hiring decision. I have to write twenty words in this but there really aren't any other cons to working at LinkedIn. Any recruiter to join our team would be lucky!

    Advice to Management

Value recruiters opinions a little more

I have been working at LinkedIn as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Onsite benefits (Food, shuttles, company allhands, gym)
    great team

    Cons

Can not participate in Full Time Employee benefits
ie: InDay, speaker series, no free t shirts,

Majority of this team is contracted (one of the biggest contracted teams besides security and food services
    - as a contractor you are not allowed to talk about career development unless you are converted into a full time employee.
    - You can only focus on your core role which is to schedule interviews and candidate experience
    - only take this role if you are okay with a contracted role.
    - There is a lot of gray unknown area when in this role (no job security)

    Advice to Management

Understand the needs of your contracted team. There is a lack of belonging moments as a contractor and it makes the job mundane.

Be more transparent about business needs and job security. Be more sensitive that if we remain contractors we will not stay forever.

I worked at LinkedIn as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are really not to many pros working at LinkedIn. The only pro is that the food within the cafeteria is very good and made fresh everyday.

    Cons

The environment is not what they claim it to be. The environment at LinkedIn is very catty and hostile. Team members talk about other team members behind their backs. The managers (especially in the recruiting department) play favorites and will let their other team members fail. Expectations are never clearly set and if someone does not do well, they use those a variety of tactics to punish their employees.

    Advice to Management

I would take a good look at the company values and truly contemplate if the company as a whole lives up to them.

I have been working at LinkedIn full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Since growing up in the public school system (UC Berkeley), I have always had to pave my own path and take care of all my needs. To be honest, I feel like I am in some sort of business fraternity or organization that I am paying for. Instead, I am being catered to in more ways than one (career growth, internal training programs) and being paid to learn at the same time. The benefits are amazing and I'm working with the kindest, smartest, and talented people ever. I am most grateful for all the friendships I have made here. The path from college to working life couldn't have been any smoother. THANKS LINKEDIN <3

    Cons

hmmm... The only con is that my second rotation of my program is in Mountain View. I have to travel 2 hours one way for the next four months. It shouldn't be too bad but I am dreading it.

    Advice to Management

Diversity lacks especially in the leadership department. But they have been making huge moves this year. The diversity initiative is one of the bigger initiatives this year but it sucks that it takes so long for our efforts to show.....

I have been working at LinkedIn full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

LinkedIn is an amazing company with a culture unlike any company I've had the privilege of working. They truly walk the walk in taking care of their employees having their best interest in mind. The environment is collaborative and progressive, with the ability to truly grow your career.

    Cons

No cons that I can think of at all - LinkedIn is a great place to work.

    Advice to Management

Management has been leading by compassion - and truly mentors and coaches. They lead by example in our transparent environment. Keep on doing what you're doing - I can't thank my manager enough for the insightful guidance, supporting my career and growth.
