I have been working at Lionbridge part-time for less than a year

    Pros

You work from home and you are your own boss

    Cons

Tasks are sometimes scarce and you cannot work when you want; No benefits and you can get sacked anytime

    Advice to Management

Internet assessors have their quality of work evaluated every month. It would be very motivating if management gave bonus payment to assessors who score high marks after this assessment. While other departments at Lionbridge answer queries very fast, the quality rating department never replies to messages, or in the rare occasion that they do, they would reply after weeks. My advice: train this team to treat Internet...

I worked at Lionbridge part-time for more than a year

      Pros

      interesting work with flexible hours

      Cons

tasks not always available, contract work with no benefits, difficulty reaching management with questions, paid only once a month

      Advice to Management

be better about highlighting changes in updated manuals so contractors don't have to read the whole manual over again to find the changes! Have better response times to questions about tasks

      Positive Outlook

I have been working at Lionbridge

      Pros

1.) Freedom to work your own hours, no car or babysitter needed. 2.) One of the higher paying work-at-home jobs out there. 3.) Work has been consistent the past couple of years, with opportunities for extra hours. 4.) My management team is pretty easy to work with, but that's not true with all the positions.

      Cons

1.) Lack of opportunity for growth, though they will tell you there is when you first start. 2.) NO RAISES or BONUSES. I've been there for more than 4.5 years at the same pay rate. 3.) NO BENEFITS. Yes, I am a contractor, but that doesn't mean they can't offer raises or earned PTO. I don't take vacations, while my managers do. Must be nice. 4.) You have to pay all your own...

      Advice to Management

Learn how to incentivize your people. Give regular raises and/or bonuses. Offer something extra to your top performers rather than always asking for something extra from them. Several times I have been "pulled" from my regular position to take care of another "urgent" project, but there are never any rewards.

I have been working at Lionbridge part-time for more than a year

      Pros

The biggest plus is the work-life balance. Tasks can be available 24/7 so assessors can work whenever they want, wherever they want. OK pay for virtual job,

      Cons

No benefits are available for assessor positions, hours are limited unless specified by management and there aren't clear paths for career advancements.

I have been working at Lionbridge full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Make plenty of friends On-site gym

      Cons

Management has a huge turnover rate. 4 supervisors in the last year alone. Flex pay - where you come into work to be told to go home since there is no work. You don't get paid for this time off. They made a huge deal of going from 9.75 an hour to 10 an hour as if a 25 cent raise at such a low wage was the best thing the company ever did for its employees. Honestly, it probably was the best thing which is quite disheartening....
