I worked at Lionsgate full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Department was packed with new projects. People were very friendly. If you can find a way to add value to your position, you can move up quickly.

    Cons

The pay is low but industry standard. Room to grow but takes a lot of time to move up. People stay in the same position for 2+ years before new opportunity presents itself naturally.

I worked at Lionsgate part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice, laid back atmosphere. Friendly group of people to work with.

    Cons

People tend to stay at thier jobs for a long time. Many executive positions, with little opportunities for lower level employees to move up.

    Pros

Experience and overall involvement is great and makes me sure that I want to be in this industry. It is what you make it but it is not hard to get involved. Accommodate for interns very easily.

    Cons

Not very much to say here besides maybe the cold temperature in the office. But really, bring a jacket if you get cold often because it's freezing in the office.

I have been working at Lionsgate full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits are great (401K, Dental, Health, Vision, tuition reimbursement)

    Cons

Staff are underpaid, not much of a company culture, and position titles are inflated.

    Advice to Management

Work with staff to treat them better.

I worked at Lionsgate (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's certainly nice to work at a major independent studio. It's not so big that the separate departments aren't familiar with one another, but the future of the studio isn't riding on one or two projects, either.

    Cons

It may have been because my department was smaller/not used to having interns, but I did not get a great look at the nuts and bolts of development and acquisitions. About 90% of my time was spent at my desk, reading scripts and providing coverage. I sat in on one acquisition meeting where actual greenlit projects were discussed, but I did not feel like I had much impact. If you are looking for an internship that will lead to employment, this is not the position for you.

    Advice to Management

It may have been because I was an intern during the Spring period, but it felt like I didn't really see interns from other departments outside of Lunch and Learns. It would be nice to organize some networking events/mixers outside of the office (if you can find the money for it) to help your interns build a network with one another.

I have been working at Lionsgate full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good networking, good on your resume, decent vacation and holidays, free parking, casual dress, free movie screenings, annual community service day

    Cons

Lionsgate is meh. The movies and tv shows are meh (brainless entertainment). The pay is meh. The office is meh (white walls and fluorescent lights everywhere). The people are meh (good at their job but not good enough to work somewhere else). Employee perks are meh (free movie screenings after its in theaters, one holiday party per year, bagels once a month, free coffee).

    Advice to Management

Give employees a reason to be excited to come to work.

I worked at Lionsgate (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy going atmosphere. As I worked on a big name project under a entry level position, I was able to still interface with executives.

    Cons

Most of their filming takes place in Louisiana, which has less to offer in comparison to places like Atlanta.

    Advice to Management

Keep the doors open to all of your entry level employees.
