    Positive Outlook

I worked at Lionsgate for less than a year

    Pros

Employees are really friendly. Work on location is exciting and creative. Team environment is comforting and allows you to learn something new everyday.

    Cons

Extremely long hours. The industry is about who you know and if people like you and like working with you. If you screw up on one job and anger anyone, you probably won't get another job on the next film.

    Advice to Management

The opportunities for young people is slim if you don't know someone in the industry. Maybe allowing a larger range of people to apply would intensify the talent in the company. For example the art departments would benefit from some really talented architecture students.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Lionsgate for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great people and a variety of projects to work on. The company is always trying new things, new types or projects and new distribution strategies

    Cons

Long hours and not enough staff for the growing workload. Also, as with many studios, constantly being expected to do more with less money

    Advice to Management

develop company priorities, the studio is growing but is not that big yet. People are being pulled in many different directions at once

I worked at Lionsgate full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great company to get your feet wet. No one actually wants a career at Lionsgate. Some friendly co-workers who aren't ego-driven. Great place to move up the ranks with a heightened job title but good luck knowing anything about that job at another studio.

    Cons

Long hours, after a Summit Entertainment merge the HR still can't figure out how to create a better office environment with employees satisfaction. Minimal pay, long hours, heightened titles with no knowledge of actual job performance. Office politics.

    Advice to Management

    Start cleaning house.

I worked at Lionsgate for less than a year

    Pros

Very casual environment, gave a lot of effort to get people to understand the innerworkings of a the industry. Many people very interested in getting to talk to the interns and helping them understand. Free screenings!

    Cons

Unpaid, sometimes had to rely on your own interest to find things to do. Seemingly long hours for an unpaid internship. Some people were very unhelpful in talking to interns - looked down on us

    Advice to Management

Management was only visible when they came for big meetings. Maybe have a way to get interns to interact with them? (unless this has changed)

    "Great company, poor middle management"

    StarStarStarStarStar

I have been working at Lionsgate

    Pros

Winter break, free health, dental, vision, nice size company, company mixers

    Cons

Analysts who work long hours for show, no work life balance, too many VPs who do not know how to manage, managers who do not get to manage, lower pay, HR that thinks everyone's replaceable

    Advice to Management

Do not value the number of hours worked. It doesn't always mean they are working. Put emphasis on work life balance. Pay better to keep good talent
