    Pros

Great culture, you're surrounded by smart passionate people. Fun environment, beautiful offices.

    Cons

Long sales cycle, complicated software/product, lots of turnover at the leadership throughout my tenure.

    Advice to Management

More consistency from managers would create a better overall environment, and less turnover overall.

I worked at Lithium Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Catered lunch was a plus. Location is convenient, and the office is great.

    Cons

No transparency, no product direction, no true leadership. No one seems to know what they're doing with pushing their product to the greater market. Sales is given little to no help from leadership or marketing. Revolving door of talent. Sleazy tactics for compensation. The model is always changing for the sales team. What was once a fun and exciting startup has evolved into a wannabe Adobe with no future.

    Advice to Management

Try keeping your talent around instead of just adding ex colleagues from Adobe and other larger organizations. There's a reason they aren't there anymore, and it wasn't because of their success. Internal growth would've gone a long way to saving this company.

    Pros

Great Market to be a part, and solid set of customers, yet they never tend to stick around for very long, Renewal Rate is less than 80% which is very poor for the industry

    Cons

-- Most customer's leave after a 3-5 year run because they realize there is not much special about the technology.
-- Multiple past employee's have contacted me directly to share stories about compensation disputes, miss treatment of employee's and very high turnover. (Just dig into how long all the employee's have worked at the company)

    Advice to Management

-- Good luck selling or taking the company public before these issues surface and become aware to the public.

    Pros

Exciting time and energy around Social

    Cons

East Coast based sales person on a West Coast based organization. Hard to get support from HQ

    Advice to Management

As you grow geographically you'll need to find a way to expand company culture outside of the Bay area.

I worked at Lithium Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

SF Office space is cool and very modern & some great names on their client list. Product gains attention from leading industry analyst, allowing them to have decent media coverage.

    Cons

Sales team has a high turnover due to lack of direction from sales management and reality of making compensation numbers. Leadership in sales is very threatening rather than inspiring & issues with correct compensation getting paid occur very frequently. No job security for anyone in sales.

Incredibly poor internal communication, partly due to lack of using an internal collaboration tool beyond email and also because politics within management create employees to feel intimidated to speak up.

No advancement plans or job reviews take place. This creates a lot of employees to just coast here while they are looking for other jobs since their is no clear career path within the company and new employees are not asked to set goals within their position.

    No 401 K match

Been "Pre-IPO" for years-- plans for IPO are always "1-2 years out"

Lack of energy and enthusiasm in the work environment despite a unique office space

    Advice to Management

Corporate Strategy is changing too frequently and does not show strength in company direction.

    Pros

People and organization culture make a great place to work. Up and coming innovation center around user generated content and social media response. Developing a platform strategy that is exciting to talk about with all verticals. Exciting time when it comes to the market and being compared to companies that are 10x size. We are leaders in this space and building a reputation in others.

    Cons

Small company feel needs more people to continue the trajectory of growth. Opportunities for jobs makes more work for others. No issues internally. People just do it and get it done.

    Pros

Great "been there, done that" leadership. Culture is the best I have been part of. Young, Energetic. Pre-IPO. Confluence of the big four - Social, Cloud, Mobile and Big Data! Great swank new facilities. huge investments made in employees and products.

    Cons

One risk: Needs to attract the best talent to keep successful.

    Advice to Management

Keep investing on retaining talent and acquisition of new.

I have been working at Lithium Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lithium is definitely a career highlight for me and is a fantastic place to work! Now that the Headquarters is right in the heart of San Francisco (225 Bush), the vibe and swanky digs adds to the appeal of what is still a thriving start-up culture. The executive team is among the best I've ever seen and Lithium as a whole is on a path of tremendous success.

After a successful acquisition of Social Dynamx, Lithium has a great crew in Austin, Texas as another center of excellence. The culture fit and team in Austin is great to work with!

    Cons

Lithium is not a place for "coasters". Very much a start-up pace and the expectations are based on an environment of high-performance. This is good if you are looking for a career challenge and not the status quo. This is not so good if you are just looking for just a paycheck.

    Advice to Management

Maintain and uphold the corporate value of "be real" at all times.
