I have been working at Little General part-time

    Pros

Close to home and some co-workers are great. Not all of the little general stores are this way.

    Cons

The managers are not great managers, pay is 7.25, you can get a raise but good luck with that, as an employee you get talked down to as if you were the stores pet.

    Advice to Management

Try training your managers to be managers, the store manager ( I believe that's what she is) needs to stop going over the managers head with the assistant manager, All the managers there need to learn better communication skills and also needs to learn how to talk to their employees.

I worked at Little General full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Friendship with other employees.

    Cons

Alot, first of all bad management. They try to play workers against each other to get what they want. Childish behavior and they use their hard workers to do everything for them but praise the workers that could care less. Theft, drugs, ill treatment is ignored just along as there is a person available so management gets their time off. Raises is at bare minimum.

    Advice to Management

Become more professional. Worry about how your store is ran, not if your friends or not. Treat good employees how they deserve to be treated. Don't over work employees just so you can have time off. You make more money then they do and corporate doesn't want to pay the overtime.

I have been working at Little General full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Literally there are no pros to this job. Management and supervisors make you feel awful about yourself and will abuse their power. They're all corrupt

    Cons

    Drama
    Never appreciated
    Always put down
    Supervisors belittle you
    Everyone is over worked
Upper corporate employees are greedy and don't care about you
Employers will always assume the worst
Been here two years and make $7.50
    A lot of favoritism

    Advice to Management

Stop being so negative and taking all your problems out on your employees, pay more! Y'all are so jealous of Caseys yet they have better food, stores, and workers! Wonder why? Because they get paid more!

I have been working at Little General full-time

    Pros

Supportive staff at store sites (Lower Mgmt., Staff)

    Cons

Incredibly inefficient. They try to save as much in costs as possible, even at the expense of their employees.
Hazardous work environment, especially when it comes to employee safety.

    Advice to Management

In the long run, the pay isn't worth it.
Salary paid to GMs, is well below the average and the hours are very long.

    Pros

You get paid weekly, either by direct deposit or with a paper check. Health insurance and dental insurance are very affordable since January 2015. They also offer 401K, paid vacation and sick days.

    Cons

Communication is lacking between corporate level and store level. They're quick to employ new technology without fully understanding how to use it, causing difficulty and confusion at the store level. Management concerns are often ignored and swept under the rug.

I worked at Little General part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very laid back and friendly place. Flexible hours and scheduling. Customers and workers alike are all very friendly.

    Cons

Minimum wage, no opportunity to advance. No benefits. Good for a short period of time, but not practical to make a career out of it.

    Advice to Management

Maybe give a raise every now and then.
