I worked at Littler Mendelson full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Collegial atmosphere, associates are generally non-competitive, and most (not all) shareholders are enjoyable to work with.

Lots of opportunities to grow and learn. Tons of resources, and you won't be stuck doing document review your first two years.

One of the best at diversity and inclusion.

    Cons

It's BigLaw, so it takes up a lot of time and energy. Clients have very high expectations. You will have to work at least some nights and weekends.

    No 401(k) matching for associates.

    Pros

Offices are generally in good locations. Many parties (even during weak economy when other Businesses forgo Christmas parties, etcetera.)

    Cons

Wow - Too Many to possibly list here ... Plus seeing the Other Reviews - it's all already been said.

And you can tell the last 2 Five star reviews of Kansas City were PLANTED by the firm.

If I could give them No stars I would.

They don't even deserve 1 star.

(They Obviously need an option for 0.)

    Advice to Management

Be Professional. Improve your Reputation in the Community. And in the Legal Industry. They're pretty Shameless people though - They Don't care.

Ironically even though they throw lots of parties - the Work/Life Balance and Culture and Values Categories are WAY below what a Law Firm of this supposed Caliber should be - which is Essential to the Values of Any Labor Law Firm. And this Law Firm DEFINITELY Lacks that.

I have been working at Littler Mendelson full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I've worked at Littler for over 9 years now. I started as an analyst and was promoted multiple times, now I'm a senior manager. I'm living proof that the sky is the limit at Littler Mendelson. My favorite aspects of working here have been the opportunity for advancement, the ability to work on new and exciting projects, and the amount of autonomy given when working on said projects.

Also, we recently located to Kansas City, MO and the new office and people there are great!

    Cons

Since we've moved our corporate HQ to Kansas City, I have to travel there a lot, but I get a lot of airline miles out of it so it's actually kind of nice.

    Pros

Employers bring happiness ... Some by coming - others by going.

Oh wow -- I am so glad to be gone from Littler. Extremely Dysfunctional and Toxic Work Environment. And forget about trying to make a positive impact - don't be naive. All the good people leave this place.

    Cons

All the Bullies and liars are at the top and stay at the company for a long time.

    Strange dynamic.

And don't try to offer advice to management -- they don't care and they'll just retaliate against you.

NOT a Healthy Working Environment at all.

Google "A bad system will beat a good person every time" - (they won't let you post names or links here)

Anyways I was So happy to leave this place.

    Advice to Management

What's the point? All it does is put a Target and a bull's eye on your back.

    Scary!

They're not open and they punish people who report abuse and mismanagement.
