I worked at Live Oak Bank full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Nice buildings, appears to be welcoming, food is good, pay is ok, good benifits.

    Cons

Leaders do not care about the employees. If you drink the kool-aid and look, talk, act, and dress like "them " you can fit in. But if you have any original thoughts, watch your back.

I have been working at Live Oak Bank full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Great culture that comes from the top to bottom. Everyone is approachable and open, had an opportunity to chat with CEO and President informally during the first month at the company. - Decisions are well communicated, and every employee is encouraged to ask questions and branch out to learn the business - Coworkers are bright, know not to take themselves too seriously. Teammates are motivated, get things done and have fun while accomplishing their goals - The company is always ready to adapt and change to the needs of the market and technological changes. Always moving forward and never standing in place - The HQ has an amazing campus, modern state of the art buildings, great cafeteria, and gym facilities - Flexible hours. Employees are encouraged to take personal responsibility without micromanagement - Amazing benefits package and good compensation for the COL area - The company is growing and is managing to scale with great planning and several major projects to transform the business

    Cons

There is no formal framework to work from home. However, anyone can take a couple hours off to attend to an urgent matter, as long as it's reasonable.

I worked at Live Oak Bank full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Benefits, culture, the company truly cares about employees

    Cons

You will make more money in the banking industry if you work somewhere else due to the benefits you are given. Not necessarily a con, but if you want to brag about your gross salary it will be lower than your NYC and other big market finance friends.

    Pros

The work/life balance and healthy lifestyle is strongly encouraged. Motivating upper management that makes you excited to work and to work hard. Career growth and new opportunities are encouraged.

Although there are satellite offices, they prefer everyone to be at headquarters. With that being said, working remote/from home is not as common.
