Reviews about "upper management"

Pros
- People: I had some really GREAT colleagues that I worked with- some excellent devs and a few managers. Unfortunately, a lot of talent was wasted and many have since left the company. - Salary: My salary was pretty decent, however I know this wasn't the case for everyone. Some people were definitely grossly underpaid, as salaries were very inconsistent throughout the company.
Cons
In my entire career in software (10+ years), I have never seen so much office politics among managers. There are a lot of cultural problems throughout LivePerson, for a variety of reasons. I was one of the first employees in the Seattle office when it opened, and in the beginning it had a startup type of feel to it, with growing teams. However, a major issue began to emerge in that most of the senior management was brought over from Amazon, and attempted to apply the Amazon culture to LivePerson. Of course these are two very different companies. My last team had 3 different managers in 4 months, because they were either fired or quit. I hadn't even gotten to know my final manager when in second ever 1-on-1 conversation I was fired. I was told I had a choice between resigning or 'going through HR, and nobody wants that.' Aside from the culture issues, LivePerson has severe tech problems. Every company has tech debt, but this goes way beyond with lots of recurring customer reliability issues. There was a very strong resistance by upper management to modernize or have anything to do with cloud infrastructure. Like I said above, there were a lot of good people at the dev and lower management levels, but the mid level management was just toxic. It really felt as though nobody really cared about you and your career development on an individual level. The CEO seems to actually be sincere and care about the company, but I really can't say the same for mid-upper management.

Cons
Actually not much cons I could think of
