    Awesome place to work

    Nov 19, 2021 - Software Engineering Manager

    Business Outlook

    Pros

    - Handled covid and remote work really well! Full remote, flex in office, or whatever works for you. - Hard technical problems. Truly unique scale. - Good people. Smart and passionate, but also easy going and low ego. Makes every day a pleasure. - Great engineering culture. Focus on growth, innovation, best practices, etc. - Personal growth opportunities. I've had a new role every year or two and there are constantly new challenges to take on. - Real ownership of a massive scale system. We have the petabyte scale of a huge company, but are small enough to own a much larger chunk of that system. - All the basics are great - Good pay, benefits, work-life balance, coding practices, career ladder, feedback and growth.

    Cons

    - Our resourcing doesn't match our ambitions yet. We're hiring aggressively to go after more opportunities, but we all know how hard hiring is right now! - Still in the process of shifting to be a real product driven organization. Need to continue to push for this.

Expanding Team, Growth Opportunities, Excellent Onboarding

    Oct 11, 2021 - Anonymous Employee

    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

    - Highly supportive team with a great onboarding process. - Numerous growth opportunities with a flexible working environment. - My supervisor communicates well and often. - Company as a whole is transparent with a flat hierarchy. Easy to reach out across teams and seniority levels. - Benefits are numerous and easy to navigate/update. - You are encouraged to keep a work/life balance. It's not uncommon to receive OOO notifications across seniority levels. - Interview process was straightforward and well-communicated. Never felt like I was uninformed or left not knowing where I was in the process.

    Cons

It is a job, so you do have to work to be paid.

    Pros

Work life balance isn't bad and it's a great place for people early in their career to get exposed to the industry. However, LiveRamp may make it difficult to move on (see below).

    Cons

It's shameful how LiveRamp treats their employees and it shows in their attrition numbers. They focus more on hurting their employee's future career opportunities than they do creating an environment where people want to work. Full stop. If you're a current or future employee, you should know they're likely to demand months of your income back if you move to another adtech or cloud company, citing your next employer is a "competitor." This list of "competitors" is long, subjective and changes constantly. There are dozens of examples of LiveRamp sending threatening legal letters to people's new employers or even freezing vested equity, clearly with the intention of damaging the future success of their employees. Other items worth mentioning: -limited opportunities for growth; have to wait for boss to quit to get promoted -execs froze salaries for over a year, despite how well the company performed over the past 18 months -company values are truly just virtue signaling -toxic culture persists with multiple teams, mainly ATS, and nothing is done about it -don't come here thinking you'll build anything.. they're more successful with acquiring companies than developing their own tech -most of their "SaaS" solutions are really operated by humans in the background.. have a few examples of managed services sitting behind a UI

    Pros

Open to change and growth, great team dynamic, flexible working hours, emphasis on work life balance

    Cons

I wish they had more offices in places that are not "major" cities for the Tech industry

    Great people, bad management

Oct 4, 2021 - Data Scientist in San Francisco, CA
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

    - There are some very smart and capable people working hard to get things done - Great work/life balance - Decent benefits

    Cons

    - Management lacks visions, and are unable to inspire employees - Spending $$$$s to acquire startups instead of investing $$s to empower employees to get the same things done. - Many in the higher managements have LR as their sole experience. Leading to complacency, narrow visions, and tendency to promote people based on tribal politics rather than talent. - Incompetent people hanging onto their jobs due to legacy tech / tech debt. They are protected by management due to politics. - Layers of managements sugarcoating real problems into oblivion. - Problems are obviously reflected in recent stock declines. Coupled with pay freeze, employees feel underpaid and obviously causing a lot of attrition

    Great People

    Business Outlook

    Pros

A lot of smart, talented people. Good compensation. Good work life balance.

    Cons

Uses a stack rank system so you're not getting promoted until someone above you quits. The best workers are too busy to help you learn.

Large gap between leadership & employees. Work life balance is rly good.

Aug 25, 2021 - Technical Lead in San Francisco, CA

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Flexible hours. Superb work life balance for many teams. Middle mgmt motivated. Customers seem to get good use out of product

    Cons

Liveramp has multiple very very well paid executives on payroll who contribute almost nothing to the org. They seem to just be waiting out their vest periods and it’s really a shame for the culture of the organization. There is a gap between the top and the employees on the ground. CEO / CFO who run the company out of touch from what the day to day realities of liveramp are. They appear to only be interested in contributing if it has to do with investor relations.
