      Pros

After a rough start, the smaller company seems to be doing well Great festival and event brands A collective of some of the most experienced producers of electronic music experiences Global footprint Disco Donnie in the US, ID&T from Holland and Tomorrowland

      Cons

Leadership was top heavy and experienced much turnover In 2017, new management team seems good They had a great digital play with Beatport, but not sure how realistic that is anymore While a fun industry, growth can be slow and risks of event cancelations are high

      Cons

upper mgmt are absentee landlords no one gives a crap about employees, what they do, or what they want to do, as long as execs are making $ no one cares if you want to work hard to learn or move ahead, as long as execs are making $ no one tells you anything about anything, including how the company is going bankrupt, just except you to keep selling and making $ because that's all that matter

      Pros

Free tickets to shows and festivals, nice office

      Cons

sfx has tried to squeeze every ounce of short term value out of the companies it purchased. Much of this has been at the cost of user experience and general quality of their products. Beatport? what even is that now? It looks like it's just an ad board for T-mobile. Tomorrowland? The relationship between them and sfx is tense. I'm sure they resent joining this sinking ship.

      In transition...

      Pros

Festival and music company so it was fun to be able to go to free festival and check out other events. Some good young people in the company.

      Cons

Corporate structure is in transition post Chapter 11 so it was a bit challenging but at least the company exited bankruptcy protection and has new leadership. Hope that the communication and some other things improve over time. Mid-level managers seemed to be too concerned with their own agendas like in many other companies.

SFX is like a machine flying apart at high velocity

      Pros

      - If you're into EDM, well, you have a direct line into that "space". - Depending on what team you're on, you can probably get some tickets to EDM festivals. - You will get a front row seat to see how the sausage gets made. - If you like schmoozing at corporate bro-fests in Miami this job is for you. - You can get paid okay if you know how to play the compensation game - 401k (no match) and decent health care

      Cons

SFX is essentially a holding company, hastily cobbled together out of lots of smaller companies. This is not inherently bad, except that no one in Senior Management seems to know anything about managing companies or effectively executing on anything at all really. If you do some digging you will quickly find that most of the acquired companies have shed employees at a spectacular rate - through either layoffs or folks leaving out of disgust (mostly the latter.) When SFX acquires a company, they pretty much kill it on the spot. This is a shame, because many of those companies had been around a while with had solid track records and good company cultures. They are quickly hollowed out and subjected to ridiculous levels of indecision and incompetence at the highest levels which pretty much causes anyone left with half a brain to jump. Sometimes the acquisition reveals a rot already present in some of the acquired companies, which indicates poor due diligence on SFX's part. The company which bore the brunt of this effect the most was Beatport - a company with a long history in EDM. It was bought for its brand and connection to the DJs, nothing more. As other commenters have noted its development team was immediately sacked by some straw men sent to Denver from NYC who knew nothing about the business, nor much about development really. Imagine a scene from Office Space and you'll get the picture. Other commenters are also correct in that most teams are too busy engaged in corporate knife fights and backbiting to be effective or execute, but to be fair they don't have much of a strategic plan to execute in the first place. Overall the company is too wracked with indecision, incompetence and nepotism to get anything done. It will stagger on for a while extracting money from the festivals and playing shell games with the finances until Sillerman figures out a way to cash out. Many a small company, culture and "scene" will be destroyed in its wake. Culture wise there is no clear path for advancement within the organization. HR doesn't really exist. Each "business unit" is run as a fiefdom with its own management methodologies. People spend a lot of time coming up with ever more fantastic titles and "playing business". Advancement is usually based on who you're buddies with (or related to) and not on any actual measure of competence or ability.

It didn't have to be this way... but it is.

      Pros

      - Awesome event brands - From Tomorrowland (which SFX doesn't really technically own) and Mysteryland to LIV and Story in Miami, SFX owns some of the best event brands in the world... it's just too bad they have virtually zero presence in the US. - Great office and Location - I don't know how they afford it but the 902 Broadway headquarters ("The Bob Building" LOL) are really nice - Handful of good people - Some of the people at SFX have been in the dance music biz forever and understand the space and the audience... Most of the people, however, do not.

      Cons

      - Zero plan whatsoever - It feels like they are just making things up as they go. Nothing is well thought out and everything is about pumping up the stock artificially through nonsense press releases that have no material financial impact on the company - Management is nonexistent/clueless - Agree with everything already said here. The fact that upper management has either left, been forced out, or demoted recently shows just how little idea they know what there doing. Of course most of these people should never have been in leadership positions from the start but thats Bob Sillerman for you - Everything is failing or has failed - Beatport is a flop and Bob is begging potential acquirers to take it. Half of the festivals cannot sell enough tickets and are losing millions. The sales team cant sell anything and there hasnt been a new partner announced since tmobile. It's honestly just sad.

      Pros

Free tickets to their festivals (usually). Work space is pretty cool.

      Cons

Weak, incompetent and sometimes nonexistent leadership & management. No structure, no timelines, no direction, and no synergy between all the companies acquired.
