I worked at LivingSocial full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work from home, great co-workers and growth potential. Flexible work hours, great bosses and fun atmosphere. You get to really get close to your co-workers and they welcome new ideas.

    Cons

Lack of accountability. Co-workers can be very childish. Managers need to grow up; Workforce is too young. The company is going downhill.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and make some changes. All ideas do not need money throw at them. Listen to the little people at the lower levels. We have great ideas too.

I worked at LivingSocial full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Fast paced environment with a lot of intelligent people.
    - Snacks and flexible (i.e. most managers were fine with team members working remotely a few days a week)
    - Ton of room for professional growth (most team's promoted from within)

    Cons

    - Lack of focus and direction from senior management
    - Decisions made based on guidance from board and not actual data from consumers
    - Layoffs at least once a year

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your consumers more

    Pros

New ideas on how the workplace should function

    Cons

Translating the process from a major city (DC) into a smaller city (Tucson did not work. The work force was not the same caliber and created issues.

    Advice to Management

Listen to season Manager when they try to explain the differences in the environments

I worked at LivingSocial full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Super, super talented team with engaged managers. The work was miserable but the skills I learned have helped me in ways I would have never guessed. It was essentially an one-year extension of college, but eventually paid off.

    Cons

Very bureaucratic and obviously volatile. Was laid off in 2014 but found another job within a month.

    Advice to Management

Loosen up a little -- the Titanic is sinking whether you want to admit it or not.

    I worked at LivingSocial full-time

    Pros

Other employees were some of the sharpest people I have met. While it was a call center job, job was interesting. Free snacks, drinks and team activities were fun. Pay was good.

    Cons

Disjunction between management and employees. Would be told one thing in company wide meetings and then have something totally different happen. New programs not well thought out. Some merchandise very cheap quality. Merchants did not understand their responsibilities.

    Advice to Management

Decide if you are going to be a continuing concern. If so inform your managers that they have to be responsive to your employees, your vendors and your merchant partners. If not, please close the company quickly and get off the stage.

I have been working at LivingSocial full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Everyone is friendly and it's easy to find opportunities to learn outside your department.

    Cons

The company isn't doing well financially. If you're concerned about stable employment, I suggest you find somewhere else to work.

    Advice to Management

I understand that money is tight, but compensating your employees after the layoffs this year would be a great way to stop attrition. If not, more job flexibility would also be great.
