    Pros

Excellent people, attitudes, and culture. The coworkers plan small gatherings and events together and actually attend them too.

    Cons

Compensation is on the low side.

"WHY YOU SHOULDN'T BE WORKING THERE"

    StarStarStarStarStar
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

share why you should be working there

    Cons

    1. Culture – Work-life OUT of balance - working 18 hours days. Employees expected to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The line between work and personal time is blurred – was getting emails at any part of the day/night and weekends and texts and phone calls at 7:30 in the morning without any emergency or apparent reason. No reasonable downtime to stop working and recharge batteries.
    2. Bad disrespectful harassing management – except for the project managers where the requirements are over the top high, the other managerial/executive positions do not require any formal management education or skills. With no prior education and exposure to good practices, some managers create toxic environment undermining employees’ engagement, confidence, and commitment. Use of bad language and verbal abuse.
    3. No opportunities to use skills and abilities – processes just forming and incomplete. You can judge a workplace by how long it takes to get simple things done. It was strangely impossible for me to get something done that I had easily accomplished before in other environments. Then I realized I was in a deeply inefficient workplace. And when I tried to contribute with my knowledge and experience to introduce processes using worldwide best practices and methodologies with minimal change I got no support.

I worked at Lixar IT full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very smart staff and a great place to learn

    Cons

Salary isn't too competitive unless bonus kicks in. There are often grey areas in terms of compensation when deciding how to pay someone for working overtime or on-call

    Advice to Management

Make base salary more competitive and fairly treat employees for extra work and you will be a great fit for everyone!

I worked at Lixar IT full-time

    Pros

    Nice people
Parties and eating out almost every week

    Cons

    Poor management
    Not enough expertise
    Everyone is new
    Not competent
Messy, scattered work practice (outside looks beautiful though)

    Advice to Management

Please go back to school and get some technical training? How come the manager is always clueless? I came to this company hoping to learn something new, information on the website looks promising, but not even the supposed-to-be seniors in tech who tried to help for hours yield no results and had no idea on some minor repository issues which I eventually figured out---how come? I applied for the Developer position and hired as one, but almost half of my time were demanded to do highschool level technical support? I appreciate the attempt to match my previous employer's pay, but let's be honest, Lixar is still a small company and you cannot afford to keep up with the demands of a proper Devops. I thought I'd give you a try, I just did not expect that even the processes are still immature. Work doesn't have to be messy and hard, you just got to put a system in place. And please don't take it personally if a person says no to "eating out". I am not anti-social, I just don't need too much of it. You project very attractive techy environment, but it's not who you are and it's disappointing. Most of you are not technical which is bad for the technical people working under you. Having a little ethics in business can go a long way.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Lixar IT full-time

    Pros

Knowledgeable staff (great place to gain experience)
    Nice office
    Good projects

    Cons

Sweatshop - expectation is that you are available weekends and nights
Disconnect between what is sold and what can actually be delivered (no accountability for the sales team if they sell something that cannot be delivered)
When the knives comes out, it gets ugly (plenty of top down blaming, people let got, etc)
    High turnover rate

    Advice to Management

Posting pictures of yourself partying at the company's expense can also have a downside (makes the employees working long hours question why they are working so hard, when you're the only one having so much fun)

  10. "Good place"

    Pros

Great place to work, very happy so far. Fast paced environment, every day is different.

    Cons

No cons that I've seen, but this is a 20 word minimum, so I guess I'll keep typing.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing. Good job, no complaints.
