I worked at Lloyds Banking Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good location in the centre of town just behind cardiff central station, nice modern office with good facilities (gym, coffee shop etc.) friendly staff

    Cons

Wages below market average, lack of opportunities, promotions based on length of service and who you know rather than level of skills. Due to size of company and number of levels of management it seemed difficult to make any real change

    Advice to Management

Delegate more, remove layers and give more power to middle management to influence positive change

    Pros

Great people and great governance from the UK.

    Cons

Line Managers are are awful they don't respect your opinion and threaten you with your job, high turn over rate in the Finance Dept!

    Advice to Management

Threatening your your employees with their jobs is wrong. Compensation is too low compared to the market- people stay because of UK Benefits as you do but no need to treat people with disrespect and scare them with balance scorecards, curse them at 1-1 meetings.
