Pros

Small group of colleagues, good atmosphere within team. Good working hours, no late nights, no weekends. Bank holidays off (although taken out of holiday allowance)

Cons

ONLY PAY MINIMUM WAGE FOR QUALIFIED DISPENSERS! shop staff and dispensers on same wage due to no increase after new national living wage! Overworked, understaffed! Constantly fetching in new initiatives that never last and cause excess paperwork. Head office never sides with staff regardless of situation!

Incredibly disorganised, our branch didn’t have a manager for over a year, I had no formal training at all and was asked to jump straight in with no previous experience. Not a lot of support and care from head office and the higher ups who do not have to experience the constant customer abuse and technical issues.

I was a store based pharmacist manager and wasn't given the resources to excell in my role. My branch was poorly staffed, took too long to recruit as the area manager was delaying my decision to employ new staff members. Very target driven with little resources to work with, you felt harassed at times. Head office are terrible to deal with.

Pros

The people are first class. They genuinely care about the customers and, for them, it is health first, retail second. This may be at odds with the corporate priorities but it is refreshing to see such absolute commitment to the customer.

Cons

Owned by German company Celesio, they don't really know what they are doing with the brand. Their merger with sister company AAH (a pharma wholesaler) was an absolute car crash. They get through CEOs like they are going out of fashion and this has left a confused and sometimes toxic head office/service centre environment. It needs stability and a load less meddling from the Group.

-Dangerously short staffed. -Management doesn't care about staff welfare. -Most of products out of stock. -Payroll dept one of the worst in the whole country.
