I have been working at Loblaw Companies part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great place to be fast pace and lots of stuff to do, I myself work at plant operations and great crew I work with, like how majority of them are great to work with.

    Cons

Unfair treatment by area management there they do favouritism if it's not something that they like they will be little you, and they will make you feel like garbage , had altrications with plant and union having to step in.
While you are working management just stands around doing nothing

    Advice to Management

Treat all employees with respect do not belittle them as they are the ones who are the only ones without that will be contributing towards the business, do not treat them like trash as you will be expecting less results your job is to encourage them to strive.
All in all horrible management there

I worked at Loblaw Companies full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Some pros would have been when we were still working for Shoppers Drug Mart, before Loblaw took over

    Cons

No regards whatsoever for employees who are not management. Working on building a top heavy company and laying off everybody else. Contracting out to Mexico and India. Promoting people to Director-Senior Director roles with huge salaries on the same day they are laying people off to supposedly cut costs. Their so called 'Blue Culture' is nonsense. They waste money on internal propaganda and there is no transparency (which they preach is part of their 'Culture'), whatsoever.

    Advice to Management

Have a little more respect for people who actually do all the work at Central Office before wiping entire departments off and sending all the work to Montreal or overseas to cut costs. This is disgraceful. Thanks so much Gale Weston. you are not fooling anyone.

I have been working at Loblaw Companies (More than 10 years)

    Pros

If you can satisfy the unassisted and unreasonable demands right away, you get an uncertain number of hours on your paycheck.

    Cons

Nobody gives a crap about you unless you can buy coffee.

    Advice to Management

To head office management... Store level management is burnt out. Bugger off with the permanent 6 day 60 hour schedules. They are good people with lives and families.

I have been working at Loblaw Companies part-time

    Pros

    Nothing specific at that moment.

    Cons

Being immigrant makes my employer or supervisor to take hours from me and gives to people he prefers. Favoritism is the basic thing with Real Canadian Superstores

    Advice to Management

    Get smart

    Pros

    - Meet great co-workers
    - Employee Discounts

    Cons

    - Managers were the worst; very immature, anal, unreasonable, etc
    - If you were 1 minute late, you'd never hear the end of it
    - Ugly uniforms
    - Union pay / Union does nothing for you

    Advice to Management
