    Pros

LocalUp Solutions has a lot of potential. It has an amazing group of local partners that have helped it to get to where it is today. Great office, with decent benefits and some flexibility.

    Cons

There is little to no strategic direction, and senior management is either ineffective or inept. No one is in charge of anything, and everyone is in charge of everything. All decisions are "shoot from the hip" and think about it later.

    Advice to Management

Let people do their jobs, while you focus on doing yours. Stop micro-managing, and set out a clear vision for where you want to be as a company.

    Pros

    The overall business is growing.

    Cons

It's a growth market, but they're just treading water.

I worked at LocalUp Solutions as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Small startup, only a few people to deal with. A lot of freedom to do what you want. Very flexible and easy to change direction of development.

    Cons

Seems like upper management doesn't have any real goals or expansion strategy. There does not seem to be any real want to improve the product, just simply keep it from crashing and burning. Everyone is working on the same thing with no clear division of responsibilities. Very disorganized in dividing up tasks.

    Pros

LocalUp is post-startup and has a compelling business model. They understand the importance of content and local connections. Senior management is working hard to position the company for success. Energetic and talented people are embraced and nurtured.

    Cons

Localup employees must be self-starters. Because the company is so flat, there's not going to be someone to check-in with on every move. You'll be held accountable for the end result (not the process).

    Advice to Management

Keep rewarding good performers and booting-out poor ones. Make everyone aware of the initiatives that are most important and who is responsible for them.
