I have been working at Lockton Companies full-time

    Pros

Great benefits, culture, and people to work with. A position that you will learn a ton in and gain extremely valuable experience. Gained license and insurance designations at no cost. Upper management is helpful and understanding and willing to listen. Beer Fridays and company events to keep things light.

    Cons

Pay could be better. Sometimes it is tough to see the direction of where your role within the company is headed. Lots of moving parts and not sure how long it will take to move up within the company.

    Advice to Management

When you take the time and money to invest in your employees the way that you do, it is probable in the interest of the company to retain those employees. It becomes tough to retain employees that become valuable when they aren't offered what they are worth at market value. The benefits and culture probably are not enough to overcome being underpaid.

I worked at Lockton Companies full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits are good. Rolex watch after ten years. Fellow associates are friendly, and great be around. Good opportunities for continuing education.

    Cons

The company's direction has changed dramatically since I began work there. You're reprimanded for minor mistakes, and are set up for failure! Incredible amount of nepotism that is so obvious! Loyalty doesn't seem to matter, so don't expect to retire from this company! Hard work and overtime don't matter either. If management is out to get you, there is nothing you can do! They were also dishonest regarding wage caps.

    Advice to Management

Learn to value loyalty and pay more attention to your own mission statement!

    Pros

Great place to work and get started in the insurance field.

    Cons

    Raises are not that great

    Pros

    - Lockton makes it a point to provide many work perks (Fun Fridays, Super Bowling, Summer Hours)
    - 'Family-like' culture
    - Lockton pays for text books and testing for many certifications, designations and licensing

    Cons

    - Favortism is a big problem
    - Short handed a lot of times
    - If you are able to take more work, they will pile it on

  5. "Lockton takes pride in being a great workplace, but it could improve in areas."

    Pros

Workplace culture is driven to win but we have fun, and though there is adequate stress it is not overbearing. It's good to grow at one of the most reputable companies in the industry.

    Cons

It seems as though there are limited paths for advancement if you are not interested in sales or being an account manager. The two paths present themselves as rather cookie cutter, uninteresting, and monotonous.

    Advice to Management

Utilize the exuberance available in the educated youth you are hiring to modernize and better your operations and efficiencies. It'll retain young talent and help the company win.
